Exactly, as a teenager if someone gets in a dryer right in front of you, it's only natural to close the door and turn it on.

Never mind as teenager, if someone jammed himself in dryer tomorrow theres a good chance i'd be shutting the door.

Of course, I'm a lot smarter now and would take a quick look around first.

I'm sure the kid would have been fine on tumble dry anyway. High heat he may come out a little shrunken and extra staticky.

If I were a C student that always scored in the upper 10% on standardized tests I would consider challenging your principal because I agree with you that on principle your punishment should be equitable with the other party. If you fit under any other circumstance I would just accept the punishment and learn from the lesson.

In that very unlikely former scenario I would draft a letter on legal letter head asking the legal explanation of the inequitable punishment and tell him you are prepared to take the GED.(Given your circumstance would probably would be enhanced by taking that route).

You have to remember this incident doesn't show up in your transcript.

You assaulted a smaller, younger kid.

And the principal is a jerk for giving you two days ISS?!?

Sure, son...

Just keep that line of self-deception and entitlement going...you're going to be a big success...

I did not assault the kid. He volunteered to get in the dryer. No one forced him or asked him. I was gonna close the door but didnt. He was almost crying when I attempted to shut it. He was obviously in distress so I did not shut it.

Im pretty sure that is not assault.

This is the part of your post I think most of us are having an issue with. You tried to shut the door and your intent was to turn on the dryer. Yes, the idiot stick got in the dryer on his own accord, but you had intentions of taking this a fair bit further.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but clothes dryers (at least residential units), only have simple friction door latches precisely to prevent someone from getting locked in.

Yep, just an average 1990s Maytag dryer...

Yeah, it is only (some) of the commercial units that have locks.

You need to look up, and understand, what actually constitutes assault.

Tried to close the door? Tried to turn it on? Yep. Assault.

The fact that the kid was almost crying and obviously in distress should've been a clue....a clue that you were bullying a smaller, younger kid and causing that distress.

You should be ashamed of yourself. You acted like a bully and tried to hurt someone smaller and weaker than you. Instead, you're whining about the principal.

You've got a lot of growing up to do. That won't start until you own up to your own bad behavior.

Agreed. Your pricincipal is doing sadly what your parents cannot do with that extra day, raising kids.

Funny parallel...

I'm flexible, and always been very much so.

Tyke school, year 8 (2nd year of high school), one evening on TV was the tall dark dude who fitted himself into an 18" perspex cube.

Turn up early for role call, shooting the breeze with others, and am dared to get into a cupboard, do so willingly, at which point a chair is jammed against the handle, and left until a teacher prepping for her class moved it.

^^^^ this x 1,000.
obviously, the acorn did not fall far from the tree.
we all do goofy/stupid things, from time to time.especially the kids. what raises stupidity to an art form, is posting on the 'net, or social media, things of this nature for the world to see.
all we can hope for, is that, at some point, natural selection will prevail.

re-read the o.p. the kid has poor writing skills. if writing skill of this level is common in the o.p.'s area ... well, 'nuff said.i'm sure that he'll have to look up natural selection.

O.P. -- love your hilarious post.you are likely bitog's newest/ youngest drama queen. keep these pearls of wisdom coming ! ( there are no pearls -- it's just a figure of speech)
have a good day.

astro -- always read ones sig.

Cops should have arrested him for assault and taken him to jail.
