S3XY Stalks for Highland

Honestly the more I've thought of it, the shifter wouldn't bother me much. The turn signals having redundancy of buttons on the wheel would get to me too. I still don't think it's better, but adding redundancy to the new methods would be an OCD thing for me.

I'm a mess.

Just installed the Commander and S3XY stalks. Even a programmer can do it. You are supposed to go easy on them, or even not use them for up to 48 hours to allow the adhesive to set.

@97prizm the CR3032 batteries pop right out and last 6 months to a year, or so they say. The app will warn you when they need replacing.
Operation is very smooth. The stalks are h ighlyconfigurable, but I will leave them vanilla: turn and wipers on the left and "PRND" for the right.

Wifey came home from work as I was finishing up, "Aren't you going backwards?" I can't win..

I'll be curious to hear your longterm experience with them. I'm so used to the stalks, but as I mentioned previously, the multiple inputs would mess with me if it's apparent the way the screen inputs display. Shifters are different in many cars, but muscle memory is pretty strong with turn signals.

Basically, the stalks allow you to operate the car like the pre-Highland cars.
Again, my biggest complaint is the sticking turn signal buttons.
Second, I loan my cars out, so the stalks make sense.

Update report... I like the stalks. While I like the turn signal buttons, they are a bit of a gimmick. Worse, they stick from time to time.
The best part is the windshield wiper button at the end of the blinker stalk. The reason I like the buttons is, your left hand is already in position where you have to reach for the stalk. Just my experience.

I don't really use the right hand gear shift stalk, but that's partially because the car shifts between forward and reverse itself for most cases. So I don't use the stalk or the screen; no need.

Elon, take a lesson! Stop being so wack!

A friend of mine and wife tried Tesla for 4 months but found the controls so off and difficult to use (including wipers) he just said life is too short and traded for slightly used Porsche Taycan

Teslas are different, and in the case of the stalks, too different for some. The Taycans are incredible and you can do pretty well on the early ones. The value has dropped due to issues.

Hmmm, maybe I need another EV?

Why not do like Tyler Hoover and go for a hooptie project? Maybe a copart Taycan?
