ok its been awhile since i've posted here, i have used a pureone on my bike previously, on the next the change its getting a classic.

the dilemma i have is that i bought a bunch of these filters in this one size when they were being clearanced out at a local store.

I bought every one left on the shelf in both classics and pureones.

this filter fits my motorcycle, my dad's, both my brother's cycles and my 4wheeler.

so they are gonna get used regardless.

being that my bike is a R1 and a high reving engine i guess i could see the problem with oil restriction, but would it be ok to run the pureone on a bike with a v-twin cruiser that mainly sees lower rpms?
what about a 4-wheeler even?

by all means i guess i don't really see the problem, if the bypass valve does open and unfiltered oil does go through, it will be filtered eventually at lower rpms, i mean thats why it has a bypass filter, and surely every filter has the valve open at one time or another.

I guess i don't see the harm at this time.

but i still run the 5w40 rotella synthetic in mine and change it yearly.

why risk it, or even let it bother you, use the pure one in other applications (like a fourwheeler) or your mower ect.. Im nolonger intrested in Pureones for motorcycle applications.. Napa is closer to me, im slowly turning over my stash and just running napa gold (wix) filters on everything.. no worries there..

If anything the fear of spending $12.00 on a frigging oil filter... scares me more than anything

Just contact purolator for the flow numbers on the pureone and classic filter you use and compare them to the wix/napa. The truth is if you contact them and mention using a car filter on a motorcycle they'll tell you not to b/c they have a line of motorcycle filters they want you to buy. I don't see any issue running the pureone on your bike though, and there is a longer version the pl14610 that would give you more media for better flow if it will fit on your bike.

I'm running the pl14610 on my cbr 600 f4i which redlines at 14k, I pretty much never take it there though. Your bike should have a light that will come on when the oil pressure is too low, has it ever come on besides during startup? These bikes usually have bypasses built in and the only reason there is a bypass in our filters is b/c they are used in a lot of different machines.
