Royal Purple @ Walmart

I noticed today that my local, northern NJ, Walmart is carrying Royal Purple 5w30. The shelf price is $6.72/qt. Mobil 1 Extended Performance is $6.42/qt. It seemed odd to see this at Walmart. They usually try to carry high turnover products. There is an Advanced Auto right next door to this Walmart and they DON'T carry Royal Purple and never have. Interestingly I was at another smaller Walmart earlier in the day, about the same distance from my house but in another direction, still northern NJ, and they did not have the Royal Purple but their 5 qt jugs of Mobil 1 Extended Performance were $2 less than the the Walmart that has the Royal Purple

. I guess individual Walmarts have some flexibility as to what they can carry and pricing.

People really love this oil or they hate it. One thing is for sure;the company is growing by leaps and bounds. It is only natural for Walmart to want to get in on the action.
I have used it in the past with great results at 10K intervals however I have been able to duplicate and at times exceed their results with a lesser priced oil so I opted to save the bucks and switched. David Canitz on their tech line knows his stuff and is very helpful. If price were not an issue for me I would continue to use RP based on the results I received from using it.
Some people on here say it isn't worth the price but it worked well for me.I'd take it over M1 any day.(boy,I will pay for that)

Won't be long until RP is a GrpIII if they are selling it at Walmart.

You may very well be right. Walmart loves strong-arming suppliers for the cheapest price possible.

I agree with KBFXDLI and Mokanic. Looking at typical properties and testing comparisons with other oils, it wouldn't suprise me it it already was. http://www.themotoroilsite.com/forums/in...post&id=549 .
