interesting--the Rotella is much thinner than the Mobil 1 at the colder temps but then catches up as the temperature rises and is just as thick at the higher temps--the best of bost worlds! (and it's "only" a group III and much cheaper than the Mobil 1)

nut much cheaper, for 5 qrts it will cost you $18 and change at my wal-mart. T&SUV $20 for 5qrt jug.

BTW what's the deal with diesel oils coming by the gallon?

When you have a 12 quart sump, it's just easier to add oil after changing it with gallons instead of quarts. HDEO is used primarily in diesels, which have huge oil capacities.

Good grief, if I had to buy HDEO by the quarts for our diesel, I'd for sure go broke!

I can find Rotella in the gallon jug here at Wallyworld for $13.??

FWIW - the Rotella is easily turned over even by a sohc engine on a -5F day as well.

Funny thing though, I use Delo 400 15w-40 in my diesel, and the Rotella 5w-40 in my gas engine Rodeo.
