President Jimmy Carter has passed away at the age of 100.

Leaving politics aside, he was a noble man with a fantastic career of humanitarian service for decades. He also had a notable Naval military career in his younger years. If I recall his story correctly, he actually had some nuclear experience and participated in saving many in some manner of a disaster, or something to that effect. It would not be wrong to call him a hero in many aspects of his life.

Rest in peace, Mr. President.

Carter played a role in the clean-up at Chalk River. My condolences to my American friends.

The man inspired and motivated me. His involvement with Habitat for Humanity helped drive me to get involved with a more local home rebuilding and renovation program, where I volunteered for several years. The world needs more Jimmy and Roselyn Carters.

RIP Jimmy Carter. He was a good person and it was always nice to see him keeping up with baseball even into his older ages. Regardless, it was incredible that he lived as long as he did. That is a great accomplishment.
