Me too! Scary stuff.
Maybe one of you guys who knows the family when it is ok< to mention to his son he needs to get to a doctor too, because from my own experence it is a family matter. It comes on usually in your 50s and if your lucky like I was you get the best doctors and you make it to 73 like I have.It so much better when the doctor finds the trouble before you do. Kind on the driveway not the highway. With todays meds you can survive almost anything these days. But you gotta open the hood.

I'm just stunned.......I really don't know what to say!
I had a few PM's with Gary, and we chatted on posts - he was such a peaceful, 'roll with the punches' kind of guy...and he would NEVER hesiatate to help someone out. Never.
I got from his posts that he was pretty peaceful, and happy with where he was in life - I hope that was for real, and he died peacefully, with no regrets.
RIP forever Gary. We'll never forget you here!
I had a few PM's with Gary, and we chatted on posts - he was such a peaceful, 'roll with the punches' kind of guy...and he would NEVER hesiatate to help someone out. Never.
I got from his posts that he was pretty peaceful, and happy with where he was in life - I hope that was for real, and he died peacefully, with no regrets.

Really does. Gary was a class act. He was the person I took to talking to first on this board because of his character; I just "liked him". He struck me as an honest and very intelligent person.

I used to try to find reasons to talk to Gary, for nothing else but to read his writings and gain wisdom. Our private discussions were almost always on off topic subjects, in which I found Gary to be a database of knowledge and a wealth of eloquence, an out of the box thinker with a way of convincing you without being convincing. I'd have to read many of his posts multiple times because I had to bring myself up to his level, in which I'm certain I failed in doing so on numerous occasions.
There are few examples in our lives of individuals that have the "it factor" and he was one that did. We, as a group, were lucky to have him as a member and be so selfless in his contributions. He really did make other people better by association.

I noticed that Gary hadn't posted in the last week before he died. I wonder was he having problems that whole week??

Shocking news, Gary was indeed a great guy. I spoke to him a few times on the phone when placing Amsoil orders and each time we got to talking about all kinds of car stuff. He will be missed.
Very sad indeed. Gary was way too young to be taken. He will be missed. I can't imagine the pain his family is going through. Terrible news!

I've been BITOG'ing for a touch over 8 years (!) now.. we've seen many come and go in that time, but I hate to see them go like this, especially a member like Gary.

Thank you JHRZ2 for posting the link to a pic of Gary and family. It is evident in his face that he loved life and was a friend to all. I wish I could sign that card that Helen is sending to his family today. All of BITOG will miss you Gary, RIP.--Oldtommy

I am very sorry I did not go out to Pottstown to see him and his family when I was up in New Jersey last year..We always went back and fourth with pm's..He was one down to earth guy.

I'm not sure if that is an omen or not, but it has really had an impact on me. He was an incredible person, I haven't been this torn up inside in a very long time.
