In another thread i posted about my wifes family coming to town for a funeral.

We all rode with my brother in law in a tahoe to the service.

He drives like a fool! 100mph in and out of traffic.crossing 3 lanes at a time and the low tire light is on. All the tires had less than 25lbs in them.

Not a good combination with 9 fat ppl in the truck.

If im about to miss an off ramp i dont put lives at risk.i'll go to the next off ramp and turn around.

Not this guy! Shoots across 4 lanes of traffic at 85mph!

I dont see the point.

We went somewhere again yesterday and we took 2 cars.the smart folks rode with me.

I was leading and i guess the whole time my brother in law was whining about me only going 70 in a 65 zone.

Maybe he's smart like a fox, and his plan worked as intended..

You could employ similar methods around the house, and maybe the In-laws will find a Motel to stay at for the duration.

I have brother who thinks passing other cars is a feather in his cap.
Avoiding being in his car is rule number 1. Tried explaining the danger versus gain to him yet it doesn't work, he feels he's mastered it.

Some do this in my area too, cross 4 lanes of traffic in about 200-300 feet to off ramp. They take too much risk.

People who drive like this need to have their licenses permanently revoked...

A nice Christmas present would be a one way ticket to Siberia. Plus he will probably lose some weight by moving there.

Nine fat ppl will actually fit in a Tahoe? Really....I'm surprised it would do 100mph, much less remain up-right, with low tires, with such swerving. What's the max cargo load rating?

I encounter similar idiots around Austin: Sudden lane changes, far left to right to make an exit they weren't prep'd for because they were texting while driving.

Your BIL is a menance to himself, his family and fellow drivers unfortunate enough to be in front of or next to, him.

Geesh...sounds like you're already off to a stressful Thanksgiving!

Chris, your story reminds me of this one time back in college when I hitched ride to an off campus BBQ from some guy I knew from class. I didn't know why nobody else would accept his offer for a ride that day. He drove a 1980s Ford Probe and I've never personally witnessed a worse driver. He was either flooring the gas or brake...there was no coasting. At one point he locked up the brakes after making a wrong turn and nearly wiped out somebody's wood fence. When I arrived at the party people were laughing as I got out of the car...my face must have been ghost white. They then told me nobody accepts rides from him because he is scary. Needless to say I went straight for a beer.

They are out there....

If someone drove like that with me and my loved ones in the car he would have me in his face and would not be very happy. I refuse to risk the lives of loved ones for no reason what so ever.

he seems very nice. And has raised 4 step kids that are very respectful. No idea where he learned how to drive.

The 14 year old volunterred to make a pad for my shed in exchange for me cooking lunch!

a good solution provided nobody else has to suffer this final event.

My dad can't drive for anything. He was at a funeral and his bumper was pre-dented from a previous incident and a hearse backed into him somewhere else and the mortician was aghast that he was responsbile. We all had a good laugh.

Dad will floor the gas in 5th up a hill at 30 MPH because downshifting is a sign of weakness. If he's going to a flea market or something else he enjoys, and it starts raining, he'll wait until the windscreen is completely covered with water droplets before admitting the weather is bad and turning on the wipers.

He'll come up to a neighborhod stop sign in 4th then put it in 5th, not even let the clutch out, and pull it back out of 5th. It's like he's not a man if he can't make 5th gear on every block.

We were driving in traffic (Route 9 near the Natick Mall in Massachusetts) and the Beatles' "Yellow submarine" came on the radio. When all the clanging and yelling started in the chorus Dad thought he was in a submarine demolition derby and he started white knuckle driving!

He inherited some money and started taking flying lessons.

They'll let you do solos after a few hours and he finally scared himself out of that when he had too much to do on a final approach. He lives two states away but flew over my house so my Mom could take pictures.

Every family has one. If by chance your family doesn't......it's you...

What does he do when he gets home after terrorizing the roads in his truck? My BIL turns on the TV and sits. Get your BIL in the back seat some time and drive nice and unhurried, below the speed limit. I did that once, and mine was going nuts and said he wants to drive. The wives talked and we all but him had a good time.
