Congrats on the new truck!

I still can't understand the double standard applied to trucks. There are numerous threads about new %50,000 high powered cars, and almost no negative comments. One thread about a truck, and people show up to point out the waste....... Truly ignorant.

Why? Ever hitch a 12,500 pound trailer to a Maxima? How did that work for you? So if I follow your logic (and apologies in advance if I am misunderstanding), I should have the truck to pull the trailer and buy another vehicle to commute?

FX, you're in TX, you should know that where Maxima is in Austin which is a REAL blue and liberal part of TX. Of course they have the right to tell us peasants on how to live our lives and what's best for us

Its not the first time MaximaGuy has preached his nonsensical hogwash hatred against trucks. I'm ready for more sage advice from such a self centered revelator.

Well stated, agree 100 percent.

I also have never understood why people will criticize others for the vehicle they buy. If it's about "conserving" natural resources, I've often wondered who uses more - me driving my F150 3k or 4K miles a year, or someone driving an econbox 30K miles a year!

FX4, this is a bit off topic, but did you happen to see what the gas alternative is in the heavy duty F-Series trucks? Is it still the 6.2 modular V8, or is there another engine? I thought I'd read where the 6.2 was either done after '15, or is done in '15.

It was the 6.2L, but all that remained on the lot was 6.7L Powerstrokes, however, the 6.2 is in the 2016s as well. TBT, I am so glad that I bought the Powerstroke--I have put about 400 miles on it and could not be happier. No gasoline engine I have owned to date can compete with the 440HP/860LB-FT of the Powerstroke.

Thanks Wayne!

Isn't the 6.7 a quad cam engine? If so, is it built more like a larger OTR diesel, in the sense that it's a quad cam pushrod system? About the 6.2, I was just curious about what Ford was offering for a gas alternative. My dad is looking for a 3/4 ton pickup to pull cars with, and right now he's looking at two Rams. One is a 5.7,the other a 6.4 Hemi.

So your screen name should be 2015_FX4 now.

Friend had a regular 03 F150. Engine died, something to do with oil consumption, and her punk boyfriend drove it onto I think another car.. then swiped another car with her 2014 Chrysler Town and Country, on lease.

It has 4 valves per cylinder, but it is an OHV engine so it has only one camshaft. The more that I drive it, the more that I am certain I chose the right powerplant. I looked at both GMC (not Chevy--too ugly) and Dodge, but at the time, GM was stupid expensive and not willing to deal at all (even on the 2015 models), and Dodge did not have any incentives (like 0%). I have owned all three brands (gasoline) and they all have their quirks, but all have their benefits too. From what I hear from friends who own Dodges, they are quite happy with them.

Thanks, but not sure what waste you are talking about--this truck is more fuel efficient than the F150 and can pull what I need to whereas the F150 could not.

They are still using the 6.2L. We were at the Ford dealer last week and a few of the Super Duty's on the lot had the 6.2L.

Nice truck FX4!!! Are you going by the DIC or hand calculating the MPG?
In the next few years I am going to be in the market for a new Diesel truck, Watching the 6.7 Powerstroke very closely!

Thank you! I am using the DIC for the MPG (which if anything like the F150 is pretty accurate).

Nice truck! I love that color. The same color as your F150, No?
Maybe I should go over and buy your old one, haha! That'd be great if it was kept in the BITOG family.
