Why? Ever hitch a 12,500 pound trailer to a Maxima? How did that work for you? So if I follow your logic (and apologies in advance if I am misunderstanding), I should have the truck to pull the trailer and buy another vehicle to commute?

Correct, as an analogy say I have a boat at home so I need a truck (no regular truck I need the baddest one out there to justify the haul the boat). Could I have rented a boat and been in the waters? yes, but then I wanted the bad truck to justify having a boat.

Pl. tell me how vehicles in the range of 3500-4500 lb GVWR will give same MPG as this beast which is 10,000 lbs. Complete hogwash, if he got avg 12-14MPG, he should consider himself blessed w/ the purchase

Probably the same way my SRT-8 is rated for 23Mpg highway despite curbing 4,371lbs. The "regular" porky Charger (which weighs about the same) is rated for 19/31 with the Pentastar.

Technology.

By that metric you should be driving a Geo Metro since it can get you from A to B as well as your Lexus

And a 3 cylinder one too. Don't want to use too much gas just getting to and from work.

Why exactly do you care so much about his purchase and use of his vehicle.

Exactly.

My charger routinely gets 28mpg on the highway, with a hemi. And I can get 23mpg in my Sierra c3 with awd and a 6,0. It's how you drive.

Maxima. Why Re you even here. To troll peoples posts.
Must be a miserable existence if all you have to say is negative stuff to people you don't even know.
Maybe it's time to come out of moms basement for a while. Put on some pants. Have some human contact because you've obviously forgotten what that's like.

Fx. Congrats on the truck. I'm going to miss the data from the old one. Your data taught me an incredible amount in regards to viscosity and how to interpret a used oil analysis.
That new one has crazy torque. It's addictive.
No tuners. No rolling coal. Leave it stock and it'll run for longer than you care to own it.

Oh, OK, I see. I should pay for two vehicles, two sets of insurance, two maintenance plans, two of everything? Yeah, I am glad that I do not subscribe to that train of logic. I guess you have towed squat in your life because a 12,500 trailer requires a certain size tow vehicle and since I am the one paying for it, I get to decide what that is. Enough said.

Mmo kidding. Why some jerk feels the need to act like a jerk because someone bought something they don't agree with.

I don't understand why maxim is even posting. He's got nothing good to say. What a sad person. He feels the need to rain on someone's parAde and for what. Because he's to broke to even look at the new car lot.
What a sad person

Thanks Clevy! Other than some accessories (bed liner, bed cap, mud flaps), it will remain all stock (like the F-150).

I mean now during the sale, not overall this year. They sold 4 more the same day I bought mine.

Well said Clevy!

My parents pull a 5th wheel with a F250 with the 6.7. Very nice truck. I drove it around not pulling anything and it drove very smooth. Good mileage and smooth diesel power.

How is 17-21 mpg in a diesel hogwash? My dad had a 2004 Silverado with the Duramax that got 18 mpg on the highway. This truck is 11 years newer with 140,000 less miles and a lot more technology. 17-21 is not hogwash.

Ford seems to have a few more incentives right now than in the spring. In the spring time they were not into dealing at all.

Yep, my buddy has an older Ram 4x4 diesel dually that can get the odd 20mpg tank. He pinches his pennies pretty tightly and if there was a cheaper option for him, he would be doing it. It's definitely a work truck though, but its also what he drives around normally too.

Agreed; and I was not even attempting to hypermile--that will come later to see how high I can get the MPG. 440hp/860lb-ft is not straining in the slightest in an unloaded truck, there is no reason why it should not get that MPG and a bit more.

Having never owned a newer diesel I have no personal experience with the new tech however I don't doubt for a moment that an empty truck running down the highway with very little load coupled with the fact every bearing is new and little to no resistance I can definitely believe it gets 20mpg highway.
Just to add my friend when he bought his 2014 cummins dodge was getting 18mpg at 80mph and his truck has 60k Kms at the time.
And add the fact that fx has always provided accurate info when he posts, and in no way would I consider any post of his less than truthful I cannot imagine why he'd make up what mileage he's getting.
And the fact that we are even having to have this discussion is baffling to me. Yes in this forum we have lots to disagree about and we do I consider most people in here credible and what reason or gain do they achieve by lying.
I don't always agree with many here however if they were stuck somewhere in my neck of the woods I'd do what I could to help them. That includes merk.
Ultimately in this forum we argue incessantly but I feel that we are friends, and I'm happy for fx and glad he's got a hellanice ride to pull his soon to be larger rv.
I don't get why anyone would try to take that away from him. It's a great feeling having a nice new ride,or new to you ride. What kind of person tries to take that feeling away,or rip on them for a purchase they made with money they earned working.
Makes no sense to me.
Regardless I'm happy for you fx.

Somehow, I doubt that he will run short on gas.
