Resetting MM early

Since it was a nice day, and since I hadn't juggled cars around to work on the Honda in the garage, I changed the oil with 20% oil life. Last oil change was about 9,000 miles ago, and Honda says to change it at 15%. I went ahead and reset the Maintenance Minder. Does anyone happen to know if Honda's MM gets confused if you change it early and reset it?

It doesn't get "confused," but when you do an early reset other codes may appear during the confirmation window, such as the "2" or "3" subcodes for filters and trans fluid, respectively. By doing any early reset, it is OK as long as the person who does the rest notes what codes appear and performs those services at the time of the reset. Otherwise, the computer will think that the services were performed even if they were not. This is a serious problem for those who are reliant on the Maintenance Minder system but have their vehicles serviced by independent shops who do not understand or care about the meanings of those subcodes.

Thanks! Just wondered, since it predicts other services like air filter and transmission fluid changes. I figured oil life would be fine. Wasn't sure if it got confused about other services if you reset early. This time it just called for an oil change and tire rotation.
