My Honda mower with the GVC160 160cc motor needs a new carburetor.
I've noticed on Fleabay quite a few replacement carburetors at 1/3 the price of OEM shipped from China.
Like this one: http://www.ebay.com/itm/FOR-16100-Z0L-85...=item1c865839f0

Any experience with these Chinese carburetors?
I'm especially interested in your opinion, good or bad, if you have first-hand experience with these. Chinese bashing on the other hand, I couldn't care less.

Where else are the carbs made? There are things that are only made in China these days.

Nope don't do it.The cheap ones don't last. Imprecise castings, faulty primer bulbs, leaks.. just not worth it.

I got a $15 ebay carb for the 7 hp horizontal shaft chonda, and it was a chonda carb. Worked fine, did what I wanted.

I wanted to practice on one with the jetting while leaving the stocker stock. Succeeded beyond my wildest dreams.

Good to know.

By chonda you mean it came from the Honda factory in China, just fell off the truck?

Also how long ago was it and how long has it been working?

Get the real thing from Plano Power for a few bucks more, and support an American dealer. They have very reasonable prices on other parts you can add while you're at it, and you'll also be able to maximize your shipping costs.

Chonda = Chinese Honda clone

The Tecumseh 4HP on my Troy-Bilt roto-tiller never ran right from the factory.

The $12 chinese carb I put on runs better than the original did.

What was in your rebuild kit?

I bought a new carburetor for my GCV160 from Jacks Small Engines a couple of years ago. For $15 it was cheaper to buy a new carburetor rather than trying to rebuild the original one.

They are my go to for mower parts.

The ONLY reasons that I have ever had to replace a Honda carb have been because of internal corrosion or fuel inlet seat pitting.
