Removing 15 year old PPF from hood - total nightmare or doable?

Bought a 2011 RX 350 recently. Paint is really not that bad and overall the car presents well. Has pretty grim looking paint protection film on the hood and it is sort of a sore thumb. The car is high mileage so I could live with the ugly hood, but if it's not too much of a pain I'd take a go at it.

What say you guys?

Boil water in a tea kettle and get the water under the PPF.

I would take it off and then buff the hood. Has to look better than what you have now.

Steamer is your best option.

Depends how bad it has adhered to the paint. My daughters 2006 RX330 had that stuff on it and it had already broken down the paint. I have seen several that were left with nothing but primer and bare metal when someone tried to remove that stuff.
