2013 ford fiesta hatchback 5 speed manual 1.6 engine. Any knowledge of National Powertrain? Sold through Autozone.
I wonder where they are getting parts like synchro rings and another proprietary things. Makes you wonder remanufacturers just clean up used transmissions, maybe replace input and output seals.
 
Could not find any rebuilder to do it. They can't get parts. Neither can I. I opted for used transmission w/no core return. I will play with my old one later. Had very long hard time getting it delivered. FedEx no longer ships anything less than a truck load. It had to be air freighted to our airport. Looks like UPS has 70 lb limit.

As for rebuild kits all I could find was a seal. That was it, one seal. Somebody please prove me wrong. I am looking into having a guy that has a scanner and numerical milling machine produce the part (probably synchro device) if need be.

Looks like companies that source transmissions, etc don't really have them. They find somebody that does and get it shipped from them to you. I bet the markup is about 100%
 
Tangential look:

- Find out if this was sold in Europe
- Find a way to get it from Europe, if so.
- There's a very nice YT channel, Smells Like Gasoline. He rebuilds all sorts of cars in his videos, somewhere in the French Alps it seems, and gets parts for all sorts of brands. See if you can contact him, maybe some of the companies he deals with ship to the US.

What is rare here could be trivial over there. I know the opposite is true. When a European looks for Corvette parts they usually end up ordering them from the US.

Wondering if Ford used different better transmission in Europe.
 
Sad, not that old and can't get parts... I tried to get some stuff for a family members [beater] Saturn. Could not find some of the badly needed vacuum and PVC stuff. Parts guy at GM dealer said around the 10 year mark, they pretty much give up.

Note: early 90's I was still able to find almost everything I could have ever needed for my '66 Mustang, even some OEM parts.

Possibly because said parts were still used in the production of new cars, or cars whose production stopped leas than 10 years prior, not because anyone cared about your 25 year old car :)

There's lots of these transmissions in Canada, and a used low mile one is pretty cheap still, but getting it to Texas still has to be figured out.

Have you tried the manual transmission guy? From memory a guy in Arizona has a business that all he does it work on manual transmissions. My dad and I stopped in a few years back.

On some of the UToob car repair channels I like to watch, you see it more and more now where you can't find computer/modules for 7yr/old vehicles. Modules the vehicle is a complete boat anchor without.
 
I would have been glad to pay US $2000 for a new one at my dealer in Texas but was no longer available. Brake pads were no longer available either.

Car is 13 years old. They do care. They care that you can not fix your car and buy a new one. Industries wonder why they get regulated and this is an example. I see Fiesta's all over town. They will have to go to the land fill soon.

FYI Penske owns over 60% of all dealerships. Penske and oil executives sit on the boards of American car manufacturers. It's a rigged economy.
 
That's disheartening, I love driving my 1996, bought new, Ford Contour with the 2.0 Zetec 4 and the 5 speed MTX75 manual transmission. It runs great and is a blast to drive. I'd hate to have to scrap it for the lack of some necessary part no longer being available. The odometer broke at 120,000 miles many years ago and it didn't make sense to get a used one, if you even could, the speedometer works, that's what counts. Do you know the model nomenclature of your manual transmission? As someone said 2013 is not old.
