If Florida...
North FL as housing is affordable and taxes are very low. No silly car inspections, no smog testing, no taxes on value of the car when you renew tags.
Not that congested, only hours away in any direction to find stuff to do, beaches on both sides of the state.

I think you can contact any real estate agent in that area.Hope you will get the room quickly before you go there.Because they have many clients who want to rent their property and you can easily choose one of them.But concentrate of the legal as well as the condition documents of that property.
