Gonna order some diff fluid 75w90 for my 2005 outback which I recently purchased. I'm thinking redline (I use it in my Ram). Would their shock proof offer any advantages over the regular one? cost about the same.

Redline makes a great gear oil. I used it my truck for 60k, best mileage I've had with the truck. I just used the regular 75W90 gear oil. I think that would be better for mileage than the Shockproof. I have since changed to Mobil 1, but may go back next change.

stenerson, I would personally use the 75w90 RL. The shockproof is good stuff but more tailored to racing or heavily loaded applications. Plus, the regular 75w90 is priced a little cheaper. I will be switching to Red Line 75w90NS in the trans and 75w140 in the diff of my F250 when the time comes. They make high quality products.

Does the Shockproof contain the necessary add pack? I prefer Amsoil over Redline (I`ve tried both).
