^^ Especially on ChryCo's.

There are plenty of licensed Mercon LV out there - choose a good syn and call it a day.
Don't get hung up with RL or Amsoil.. IMO

I've run both and they are both great. Pick whatever makes you sleep better whether it's a certain spec or something else that makes you like one over then other.

There have been uoa's on Amsoil's atf that showed no shear after long usage, and you can expect that from Redline as well. For gears and transmsions their products are fairly equal. But we need to know the spec oil to see the correct version. Spec oil tells us viscosity range for proper operation of that vehicle. Use the correct fluid viscosty, either would be a great choice.

Search Redline ATF UOA's. I was surprised after 30K miles of useage examples either oxidized or sheared out of grade.

I use them for fun and DD them. The longer they last the better. Odd question, is both Amsoil ATF red in color?

When I do the fluid swap I am going to drop the pan and do the filter and add an upgraded trans cooler as well.

It's the dye it turns black really quick do a UOA after 30K miles on completely exchanged ATF you will be very surprised by the condition of LV fluid.

So I am now on the thought process of draining the pan and filter and doing another service a month or two after to get more of the oil fluid out. Would you recommend changing the filter again? I mean it is a cheap maintenance item. I think I can get them offline for about $20 and for the filter I will be going with motocraft.

What is the opinion of Castrol's synthetic ATF that is approved by Ford for Mercon LV ? It often goes on sale at AA...

If you already changed it I would not worry just drain and fill.

Thanks all! I think I am going to do the drain and fill here soon with Amsoil! If it is dark red I may do it twice this year. Once in the beginning of spring and once at the end of summer.

What does everyone recommend? I do drive fairly hard and I am tuned so I am pushing more power than at stock levels. I do want to keep this truck as long as possible!

"Tuned" and "keep this truck as long as possible" are a oxymoron

So true ðŸ‘ðŸ‘
Oils with a good level of moly are a plus for sure for long term engine life
