Red Line oil in high mileage engine - seal problem

I am considering using Red Line oil in a high mileage engine. Has anyone done this and, if so, were there any problems with engine seals starting to leak? In other words, has anyone had any problems with Red Line oil and engine seals leaking at any mileage? I have not heard of any myself, but am just asking.

Why would you want to run Redline oil in a high mile engine!

Seems to be fine in my FORD 3.8L @208K miles.....have been using the 5W-20 for a couple of years now.

Very good.
I was using Mobil 1 5w30 from when I got it with 38K miles, then switched to 5W-20 when FORD issued the TSB recommending it........and later swtiched to Redline 5W-20.
All of them did just fine in cold and hot weather.

I buy my Redline oil by the case from Pegasus Racing Supply......where I can pick it up in person.....saving shipping costs.
You may have a local speed shop that has a reasonable price....and be able to save shipping costs also.

I have the D4 ATF in the transmission and use their power steering fluid also.

All old high mile engines are prone to developing oil seal leaks no matter what kind of oil you use. Redline will not change that in any way.

That is exactly what I just did - I found a speed shop in St. Paul where I can buy the Red Line by the case and save the shipping costs.
I am going to try the Red Line 0W-30.

I ran it in my lincoln which had around 80,000 miles on it. No ill effects.

That said, Redline has a good bit of detergents and its ester base oil can clean a bit too. So while the oil will not cause a leak directly, it me clean some grime from a worn seal, which inturn may cause a leak.

Redline is a great oil. I used it with great results. It does not handle water and fuel dilution as well as other brands, but heat and pressure are no match.

If you drive mostly city and little to no highway, I'd stick to a synthetic like Mobil 1, Pennzoil Platinum, Valvoline SynPower, Castrol, ect. . . .
