I would like some votes on what way you would go. I might just try both. And no Im not going to run [censored] Toyoya T-IV. It sucks and I hate it, so dont say run it or I will pull my hair out!

Amsoil- 1

RedLine- 2

From a "feel" standpoint I prefer Redline D4 compared to Amsoil ATF in my wife's 2003 accord. I did analysis on Amsoil and aluminum was a bit high for 20k mile interval. Car has close to 20k miles on redline and will do a comparative sample.

Did you empty the entire transmission and TQ, or just do a drain and refill of the transmission with the Amsoil?

Amsoil.

I've had no experience with the Redline D4 in place of T-IV. I do have experience with Amsoil ATF in a T-IV application. No worries.

I will tell you this, I have used both Amsoil ATF and Redline D4, it is strange that Redline D4 has a lower pour point because with the Amsoil ATF the car shifts much better even when it is cold, put it too you this way when I start out on a cold day the car shifts as if it is warmed up whereas with the Redline D4 it was sluggish until it warmed up, do not know why. I know a mechanic who works on transmissions and he only uses Amsoil ATF in his personal vehicles, I said why, he told me in 25 years of using Amsoil ATF in his transmissions he has never had any problems. I would also recommend you try Auto-Rx in your transmission before putting in the new fluid, you can post me and I will give you my reasons, good luck.

I would go with Redline as my preference for the ATF. Redlines ATF's are inmy opion are the best you are going to find with out haveing some one like Molakule or Bruce custom blend on for you!

I agree with you, but I am curious if that also applies to the T-IV application. I know either one will work, but there seems to be few people who have used it. I just want the best protection along with smooth shifting and I will be happy. I appreciate all the responses so far!

Redline was a little more abrupt a few years ago in T-IV applications. Not so anymore.
Amsoil is an easy choice.

Its a coin toss. Both are excellent. What vehicle? and plans for the fluid?

2006 Camry SE 3.3 V-6 (3MZFE)with 22,000 on the clock. Its driven by my g/f every day to work in Phoenix Arizona, so the only thing special is the heat in this situation which really only gets to about 115 or so in the summer!

But I really dont see that being an issue. Its just me being anal about having a synthetic in there. I think Im going to go with Red Line since I have used it in the past with great success in other applications. Im staying with Amsoil for the motor oils for sure though. SSO is going in soon!

I've done two drain and fills with Amsoil on a T-IV application, and the unit shifts smooth as silk @ 65k. No history with the D4.

Just bought a case of Red Line D4. I will be doing a complete flush on it as soon as the stuff is on my doorstep along with a magnefine filter filter. I will let you all know how it goes. Thanks for the advise thus far!

I would consider putting in 6 ounces of auto rx in transmission before complete flush. It only takes 1000 miles and you would know transmission is fully cleaned after flush

I have used Toyota T-IV, mobil 3309 and Amalie Universal with no ill effects. i will be trying Super Tech Dexron VI next. I also use a Magnafine filter and an additional cooler for the transmission. This is all on my 2005 RAV 4.

I have had no problems with Toyota T-IV fluid. Although, I will be using Amsoil ATF in my T-IV application the next time it is time for an ATF change. I love the Amsoil ATF in my Nissan Matic-D application.
