Recommended regimen for a neglected engine

Pennzoil has been garnering a lot of respect with their newly tweaked product line, and the deals many of us (myself included) have been finding on their oils. Their pricing at my local WMs is so good it blows everything else out of the water, and I'm trying to stockpile as much of it as I can while the price is low.

All 3 of those are fine products, and easily among the best in their respective niches.

Any reason you'd suggest that over the Pennzoil plan?

Totally agree!!! But I would prefer 10w30 Pennzoil Ultra. It seems like 10w30 oils have higher volume of additives in general.

I would actually run it for at least 2 OCIs for about 4-5k miles with a good filter.

I too took in a neglected Suv. A 03 Chevy Blazer that went 28k+ miles on a conventional oil change before It became mine. I ran some Valvoline conventional, for a short oci, then Valv.MLBlend for a short oci, now IM runnng PP. Doing several short OCI's seemed to clean up the 4.3 nicely!
