No, nothing as of yet. There is no noticeable build up under the valve cover, I replaced the gasket when I bought the car. Just a deep gold varnish, not really clear kinda cloudy look to it, I don't have much service records on the vehicle but everything I have shows 8k+ mile OCI's.Surprised that you have varnish and nothing tried to date was making any engine cleaning difference at all ?
When I bought the car it was burning noticeable oil, but it wasn't drive frequently. I originally started using cleaners due to the oil burn, was maybe 1/4th a quart per 1k miles. Maybe about half that with the most current oil change, again no noticeable build up just a lot of varnish everywhere from long OCI on bulk dealer oil.
Since I can't physically see cleaner rings, I decided I would try to gauge cleaning but reduction in varnish. Overall I've done several oil short oil changes but I've yet to put even 15k miles on the vehicle which would be 2 normal OCI's for me. I didn't expect dramatically cleaning but I would be a little dishonest if I didn't say I expected HPL EC followed by a flush to at least have some effect on the varnish but at the end of the day it is what it is.
