The Mercedes E300 has 55K miles and brake fluid has never been flushed. What does this normally cost? Have not inquired at dealer or independents yet.
Have not had any issues and fluid looks reasonably clear.

The BMW dealer closest to me charges 200 for brake flush, I know we are talking Mercedes, but they're both german

Independent shop - $100 or less ... "as long as we don't snap a bleed valve".

Just paid for a service at Brake Check local chain in San Antonio.

16 Ford Escape. Flush 4 calipers with DOT4 fluid, replace front pads, hardware, and machine front brake rotors. Oil change and filter 6qts.

No need to pay fancy prices for a non fancy car.

Or . . . are your expectations of how a good brake pedal should feel, and don't know/care what good brakes are like?
Brake pedal feel usually doesn’t change significantly overtime unless the fluid is heavily contaminated. Properly sliding brake calipers and pad condition (I.e. not tapered) have a far greater impact.

Average driver who doesn’t ride their brakes will never get their fluid hot enough to boil brakes.

Of the cars that you've owned, how long did you own them before you sold them, traded them in, etc.?

To never flush brake fluid is just asking for problems, IMO.

Most cars kept three to four years, however;
76 Buick ten years,
92 Toyota, eight years,
98 Continental over 100k miles
02 Continental over 100k miles.

Like I said, not popular with BITOG.

Another thing not popular with BITOG. I never change Cabin Filters since I “cleaned” the filter in my 98 Continental. Dirty, but still did the job after over 100K miles.

Another thing not popular with BIGOG. I only rotate tires if/when I see abnormal wear. Some cars, I’ve never rotated. If two tires wear out, I just buy two tires. If two are worn and other two still got 5k left on them, I’ll buy all four.

Again, I’m “Old School”. All above not popular with BITOG but I’ve
NEVER had problems.
