Really Dislike Those Solid Color Vehicles

and then, at least around here, they're also painting their houses gray tones.
house across from me, beautiful red brick/ white trim, a classic design, ever since it was built in the 60's. ( used to know the original owner who had it built...)
the folks there now, painted the brick battleship gray, trim black, with a black metal roof. ( To me there's a special spot in the bad place for people that paint brick)
shortly thereafter, another house just up the street, same story, original owner moves , new owners in their remodel paint the house grey with black trim....
i see it all over around here... like some one WAY over ordered grey paint, and made a bunch of folks a deal.

but when it comes to cars, I welcome the return of non-flake finishes. just give me a paint that looks like old Single Stage that i can actually do touchups on myself without having to worry about the grain going the wrong way, or otherwise popping out, shouting to the world "I'm a Touchup patch!
I refuse to paint my brick. It’s staying brick colored…. The doors are black with white trim however. Inside is painted in shades of green…. We did “millennial gray” in our first house, never again!

I believe that some colors can look good on certain vehicles, but not all. Dodge Chargers in Destroyer Gray look fabulous IMO. Jeep Wranglers in White look good to me, other vehicles, not so much. I loved the JK that I had in "Rescue Green", but I don't think that other vehicles could pull it off.
Ultimately, I believe the application plays a huge role in what looks good and what doesn't. As the old saying goes, "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder."

This is what I don't understand... these colors/finishes that look like Great-Grandma's enamelware pots and pans...

GMC calls this "Thunderstorm Gray" and charges an additional $495 for it. I call it a hard pass.

Don't mind it on my Civic, and I ain't no grandma,

I've let the flat colors grow on me. With the truck I just bought I decided on desert sand. I didn't want a fancy metal flake or pearl paint job that looked like a washed up disco dancer with gold chains and a hairy chest under a half unbuttoned fake silk shirt. :)

That's too easy. This is really gonna upset the fan bois but Tacos have been hideous since '05. They try too hard to be bulbous and muscular and it just winds up forced and contrived. For the bois grabbing their pitchforks: they're good trucks and I'd own one if they weren't so overpriced in the used market, but they're still ugly.

There are a few that look ok depending upon the vehicle. But generally not a fan. I do like that there are more color options though. Things were getting too silver/white/black for me…

I mainly dislike the manufacturers charging anywhere from $395 to $995 extra for $17 worth of paint. Some of them are charging for every color except maybe one choice even.
