Looking to buy front and rear pads for an Altima. I've narrowed the choice down to Wagner Thermoquiets from Advance with online code or Raybestos ProGrade with rebate from Rock Auto.

But here's the point, the recommended Wagner TQ's from AAP are ceramic in the front, however organic in the rear. The Raybestos are ceramic front and back and with the $30 rebate are ~$25 less expensive. I can pick up the Wagners though at AAP immediately. Not sure how long Rock Auto ground takes?

Are the Wagner's worth the extra, and why an organic pad in the rear? To take advantage of the Raybestos/Rock Auto rebate need to act today.

Opinions.

RA ground is fast.

I got some bosch super spark plugs from RA that were apparently a no-longer-produced stock number, and bosch denied my rebate. RA had a rebate link staring me in the face when I bought them.

If Wagner TQs are ceramic in the front and organic in the rear, then you can be sure that's what was OEM spec'd. Wagner always follows the OEM material specifications for their pad applications.

That may be true, but on the RA site it says OE is ceramic front and rear. RA does also offer the Wagner TQ for the fronts in an organic pad for $1.00 more.

That's a tough call. Either should be good. I'd guess the OE pads would be ceramic in the rear. You could probably get the Raybestos advance technology on RA cheaper than the TQ's locally. I would be tempted to get the best Raybestos for less than the TQ's are locally. RA ships within a couple of days so if you don't need them immediately that shouldn't be an issue.

It's kind of nice how returns are easier when you buy locally, but you shouldn't need to return them since you are going with a quality pad. I'd probably go with the AT if you decide to go with RA. They are probably close in price to PG.

I'd get the ceramics for less dust.
Even if this is the only reason, it is enough for me to be swayed over.

Over the years that you should expect them to last, who cares about the cost of two fast food lunches?

Sometimes that "OE is" info is not accurate for Raybestos. Raybestos says the rear pads for my friend's MKV GTI are ceramic, but they are in fact semi-metallic.

The OE pads on our Altima are so good that I see no reason to switch to anything else. They have an incredibly sharp initial bite, perform almost the same throughout a wide range of temperature ranges with no fade and have excellent pedal feel.
