Well, I was swapping to winter tires and decided to take a look at rear brakes as they recently started squealing and pedal got a bit soft.
Both rear inner pads had friction material delaminate from backing plate, tons of meat thou as I replaced them a year and 28k km ago. Went to local store and got Brembo pads, they were most expensive but choices were slim and next down ceramic was only C$10 less, others were not ceramic and only $10-15 less. At least steel rims are hiding that bright red color for now... LOL. Went for a drive and saw newish F150 on fire on highway... talk about interesting evening.

There is quite a bit of rust, I'll take pics tomorrow and attach here. Interestingly it was both inner pads only. I actually stopped using Raybestos around same time, could've been last install.

Personally I'll only use Akebono or Brembo pads and feel cheaper/easier to obtain options end up being a crapshoot.

I fell for the element 3 hype and installed a set on my 18 rogue. The shims started rusting almost immediately and they just never felt right. About 10k into them when I pulled the rotors and pads off one of the rears had a crack in the pad. It was at that point I decided cheap brakes would never have a place on my cars.

What kind of mileage did you get from the oe brakes and did you happen to notice if the rears worn down sooner than the fronts?

Put 40k+ miles on my wife's Fusion, I've got 25k+ on my Infiniti, our son had them on his Accord (wrecked), and our daughter's Civic has them (need to check mileage) - no issues so far. We get A LOT of rust as well.

Surprised that they would delaminate so fast. Are you sure the pins are not stuck, and that calipers are not bad? do these calipers have to be wound back in when installing new pads?

I usually do all 4 corners at 40k. The rears on Nissans are terribly small and ready around that time. The fronts are only half worn, but my ocd would never allow me to only replace the backs.

Wagner ThermoQuitet Semi Metallic pads. In my opinion, the absolute best 'common off the shelf' (COTS) brake pad in existence. Often G-G rated, and very capable of stopping an enthusiast's car multiple times, without fade or drama. Great initial bite, no fade, perfect release. Priced well too.

In a sea of imported junk, and ceramic underperformers, this one stands out.

They are as good as the old school enthusiast semi metallic pads from Hawk, Brembo, and others.

The wife had a 20 Sentra sv the rears were totally gone at 35,000 Nissan said it’s the way their braking system is designed the rears get most the wear.

Pins were well lubricated and not frozen, calipers are good, pistons move easy and smooth, not the wind back type.
