Rapidly developing storm ... or not? Heading for the coast ... seems almost certain, maybe? Updates are rolling in!

Initially we knew we were in for a storm development and some gusty winds but at 10AM on Thursday it turned into this announcement on https://www.nhc.noaa.gov/

and now 1 hour later odds went up another 10%

Im not promoting this as doomsday, but its a weather situation that changed rapidly from a potential rainy windy day just 24 or even 12 hours ago to a 60% chance of tropical winds and area of a storm surge.

It looks like I won't be watering my lawn today.
Unreal, I have had my sprinklers off since the start of the last week of August. In which since that week we had roughly 10+ (im losing count) inches of rain *LOL* 8 from the storm on the last day of August.

Ironically some of my neighbors are clueless about lawn care, they still have their sprinklers running 3 times a week and even after the storm at the end of August.
Just an FYI, our lawn is the talk of the community being so green. I want to tell some of them, they are drowning their lawns!

I'm at the beach house right now getting it ready for heavy Wx. Looks like a direct hit here. My road floods pretty badly can't stay until tomorrow. My house in Wilmington will get it first. Part of the risk for living near the ocean.

Good luck maybe the tides will be in your favor, though you won’t know until the last minute.

Ahhhh … well I see a tropical storm warning has just been issued from Cape Fear all the way up to Delaware

It's badly needed here. Most of the rivers and streams are at 20-year lows due to the drought.
Oh man, that's not good. The runoff is going to cause a large surge of trash which would've normally been periodically removed during more frequent rains. Similar to a flash flooding out west. .

Saturday afternoon high tide here is forecast to be 6 feet, that will cause lots of saltwater flooding of roads in the tidewater area

Nice garage, Astro. It's almost big enough.
Yeah…almost big enough…

My shop is separate from my house, and is part of a commercial storage place that is permitted for business.

I’ve got a 42x20 foot space. With a loft. But there are stairs to the loft and my workbench, and storage, take up one slot, so, I can fit all my tools, supplies, etc. but then, only two cars.

So, I wouldn’t mind a bit more space…

I’m not worried…

The flash flooding could be really bad in places. That is the biggest concern in my opinion.
