Rain Soft

I might see if I can rig something up for $500 or less, just the filtration part though, I honestly don't see a huge need for the softening portion. Sure you'd save on soap, but it would take you 50 years to save enough to pay for the softener itself!

I found the Rain Soft sales approach too pushy for my tastes. I did some reasearch and found that there were some other systems out there that were as effective and cheaper than Rain Soft.

The Rain Soft people sure do put on a good song and dance!

The people I had were very nice though, they used to run a high end car audio shop here in Ontario, so we had a lot in common right off the bat, and ended up talking about car stereos for a little while too.

Have you looked at Culligan or Kinetico? Kinetico is more expensive but offer a regneration system based upon need & not x gal of water processed.
We have a RO system for drinking water, etc. I would recommend a Kenmore $500 unit for this since it tells when the filters need changing.
