I have a Honda powered pressure washer with an Annovi Reverberi pump. I was using a product called General Pump Series 100 oil found here: http://www.generalpump.com/PDFs/TECHNICAL DATA/OilRecommend.pdf
It is a red color like ATF. It was all my local out door power shop sold so that is what I have been using. No problems so far and the machine has been running well for a couple years on the stuff(maybe 20 hours of total run time). Recently my local shop started selling Annovi Reverberi brand "crankcase oil". Would it be better to start using this oil instead of the General Pump oil? The instructions call for a 30wt oil and that is what the General Pump oil is and the A.R. oil says "multi viscosity". The exact product can be found here: http://www.fleetfarm.com/detail/ar-triplex-plunger-pump-crankcase-oil/0000000089856?utm_source=googleps&utm_medium=shopping%2Bsearch&utm_campaign=google%2Bproduct%20search&gslfah&gclid=CIqJguLD2bkCFUXhQgodV2QAkA

What do you guys recommend for this application. I want the best protection for the pump. Many thanks!

I was always told to run a non-detergent straight 30 oil instead of pump oil. I've been doing just that for over 20 years in my Honda powered pressure washer. In fact the only time it had pump oil in it was when it was new. I never had a problem with the pump, I can't speak for how pumps have evolved in the past 20 years though.

Have you looked at the AR website for info on your exact pump? For some of their pumps they do not recommend changing the oil unless the pump is disassembled. And then to use a very specific AR oil.

I would follow the recommendations of AR. They make excellent pumps.

I tried to find my pump but it seems it is not listed. It is an XMV 3627. Any idea if this needs the above oil? Thanks!

I inherited my pressure washer which is a Devilbiss brand with a Honda engine. I was told by my local power equipment shop that it was a high end machine for light to medium industrial use. I was thinking of using it to start up a side business washing buildings and vehicles for car dealers. I just wanted to confirm if the quality was good enough for that before I used it for long periods of time.

I see in the above link that the oil is to be changed every 500 hours!!!! I doubt I'll ever use it that many hours in my entire life. I'll probably just chance it every year!

I bet changing the oil once a season will drastically improve the life of the pump. No way that oil will last 500 hours so that is why the pump wears out. Still 500 hours is a long life.
