QS Full Synthetic vs. QS Ultimate differences?

To those who have stated (in this thread and others) that Quaker State Ultimate Protection Full Synthetic is a GTL oil...

I would be very happy if that is the case. Please point me to the evidence.

It must be written on the bottle if it is GTL base. I know that Shell and Pennzoil Ultra Platinum have them written on the bottle. What I know, the 20k miles Oil usually has alkylated naptha and more dispersant/detergent+antiwear to hold longer OCI.

As an internal Shell marketing rule?

Did they do this when it was used in Pennzoil conventional?

Quaker state Ultimate Protection is GTL

QS UP is their top oil in the QS line. UP has better high temperature protection than their Euro 5w30. Same can be said for PUP vs Euro.

I've been on the sidelines reading all the forums everywhere and three years latter the bottom line from my observation is,

1). There is no mention of Quaker State's Ultamate Protection's GTL content. QS won't label it anywhere on the bottler or web page so it's all a guess with no science behind it.
2). Some have e-mailed SOPUS and asked and the responses were both yes and no to the GTL content question.
3). Some have speculated a blend with percentages such as 40% GTL with the remaining differece being Group III and additive pack.
4). SOPUS cannot let Quaker State beat its more premium designated brother Pennzoil which does identify the use of GTL but again at what percentages do each have?
5). I, and I suspect many others, will never subcribe to extended oil change intervals beyond 5K which seems to be the main marketing difference between QS FS and UP so is there trully a benefit for a oil rated 20K?
6). GTL allows for lower additive pack levels such as ZDDP, Molybdenum and detergents and I've read a 5W30 Blackstone lab virgin analysis that matched this statement however if both oils meet the same certifications, does it matter how they got there?
7). Finally, prior to the recent shortages with price hikes, I get the argument of "for $3 extra dollars, why not?" My answer is since SOPUS is not being transparent to the consumer with Ultamate Protection's real advantages and GTL content, I'd rather save the $3 and know at least what I am paying for.

90% of the population has no clue Pennzoil and Quaker State are Shell products. I’d bet my life, at least before recent oil supply shortages, Pennzoil platinum and QS Ultimate Protection were the same and Pennzoil synthetic (not platinum) and QS full synthetic were the same. People buy oil on brand loyalty. The only reason QS still exists is to retain the brand loyalists left and there would be no benefit to separately blending the same tiers. No better way to lose sales than to yourself.

I’m convinced. All the subtle indicators are there even if (understandably) Shell is keeping it on the down low.

1) It’s on the SDS.
2) The add pack appears near identical to the full syn, yet it costs 3 dollars more.
3) The PDS indicates much better MRV numbers = base oil.
4) They slap 20k on the bottle, the only other oil they dare to do this with is Pennzoil Ultra Platinum.

I find all that to make it pretty obvious. I’m done leading horses to water. With the GTL issues I expect this oil will quietly slip away, or lose its 20k rating at the very least.

Some certainly have speculated, that’s true. Crazy stuff.
