QS Euro 5W40

I'm pretty sure Pennzoil Platinum Euro L is the lower saps oil of the two which is about 8. Quaker State Euro has the bmw ll-01 certification instead. It being a3/b4 as well means it has to be at least 10.

The ll-04 spec is supposed to be a lower saps version of ll-01 so i imagine drain intervals could be a bit shorter than ll-01 but starting tbn isn't as strong of an indication of an oil drain capability anymore.

Quaker State Euro 5w40, is this a low tbn oil like Pennzoil Platinum 5w30 Euro L or can it safely be run longer intervals?

Both are long drain interval oils. The difference is that Euro L can only be used with ULSD/ULSG (US, Europe, UK).

The TBN for Quaker State Euro will be higher.

All of these oils are intended to for long drain intervals. The caveat is that ACEA Cx oils must be used with low sulphur fuels.
