I wanted to thank everyone on BITOG for their stellar advice. The oil consumption on our family Q7 was getting to unnerving levels. After researching through BITOG, took a chance on HPL. This is my 2 year 11,000 mile update.

Oil consumption is pretty much solved with the latest interval burning 1/2 a quart in 1500 miles!

I have the spreadsheet attached showing the mileage, when the oil was changed and when it was topped off.

I started with 3k intervals and just moved to 5k. Hope this helps anyone else having issues. As always YMMV.

Thank you to the geniuses at HPL and you fine people at BITOG!

**40% to 50% maybe about the same, it's hard for me to tell on the digital oil gauge**

I'm glad you're happy with the results, but this statement of yours is a bit concerning to me. You're still burning at a rate of 1 qrt every 3k miles? That's not exactly stellar performance. I'm not blaming the HPL; I believe it's doing a good job of cleaning, etc. And the volatility of HPL lubes is quite low; often not accurately measured in traditional NOACK testing. But burning oil at an equivalent rate of a quart every 3k miles isn't exactly something to get excited about. My point is that the improvements you've seen are certainly encouraging, but the current rate of oil use isn't what I would consider optimum.

What is the "digital oil gauge"? You're not looking at an IOLM, are you? I'm not familiar with the details of this engine; does it have an active monitor for the actual oil level? (and if so, how accurate is it in reality?)
