LiquiMoly Engine Flush - any improvement for rings/oil consumption

Hi:

I have a 2019 Audi Q7 3.0T with the dreaded oil consumption problem.

I'm preparing to do the Berryman B12 piston soak (a PITA on a 90deg V6!).

Should I add some LM Enginer Flush or HPL EC in advance? I'm going to be replacing the oil anyway.

Just curious what people's thoughts/experiences are.

Thanks!

Dave

You're trying to fix a consumption issue correct? I don't see the harm in doing a flush of some kind after the flush or perhaps HPL EC. What viscosity does the car require? I ask because if 5w30 is an alternative weight; I'll give the obligatory Valvoline Restore & Protect recommendation.

Edit: A member here posted a UOA from someone's Audi using VRP. FWIW; that member said they did B12 soak, EPR flush and now using VRP on their own car with no consumption.

If you've been consistent with your oil changes then just skip the B12, LM engine flush, HPL EC and move straight to HPL Euro.

HPL EC: This involves an oil change and running the car for a few thousand miles.
LM Engine Flush: Unlikely to do anything for carbon deposits.
I tried the straight to HPL approach with my VR6 and just ended up burning a lot of expensive HPL oil. Wish I had gone straight to the piston soak - which I did later and so far have zero oil consumption after. Now running HPL to keep the rings clean from here on out.

I would just do the piston soak with B12, and then Run Valvoline R&P (others have had success here with 3.0T and this oil) or a Euro spec-ed HPL oil for that engine.
