The OP's insurance company will initially pay. That company then inherits the right to claim against the Titan owner and / or his insurance. That company can refuse to cover him because it was intentional. This often ends up being a civil debt sold to a bill collector.

Yup, this.

And since it is an intentional act, his insurance company will likely drop him like a hot potato. That information goes into a data base shared by other insurance companies, and he will be paying a lot for insurance in the future.

My insurance company isn't gonna do anything. I have a $1,000 deductible on vandalism. If his insurance isnt gonna cover him then I will try something else. His insurance adjuster is suppose to contact me sometime today.

Man, I just don't ask people questions like that.

+1 ... I agree ... There are questions you just don't ask because it's rude to ask such questions and more importantly, it's none of your business.

While I also agree somewhat, the internet makes people keyboard warriors and questions that would be off limits in person become easy to ask. On the face of it, it would seem like it's a bad financial decision, but it's not like the OP is stuck there for life, sounds like it's just a college job so it's fine.

I think your question was very reasonable and not asked with any negative aspect to it. I think everyone else is judging it because they misintrepreted your question as you judging him. I agree with your reasoning behind your questions and didnt see it as rude. Sometimes I wish I was mortgage free..id have a much nicer car to drive!

Yezzir! This

Hope he will likely pay what someone pays for insurance after a DUI. No insurance company wants a liability.

Maybe I missed it, but did the driver of the pickup who caused the damage give any reason why he acted like he did when you confronted him?

Nope. Just drove off.
PDR isn't gonna be an option because of the crease he did.

PDR got out a really bad crease out in the passenger door of a friend's dark blue Accord. Never thought it could have been done but it looked perfect afterwards. The guy even polished the area afterwards. I had pics of the work but they were on photobucket.

I sympathize with you. I had this happen, but never identified the suspect. Get a copy of the police report. You will have good INTEL in the report etc.

Respectfully,

Pajero!

My brother accidentally dinged a Ford Mustang convertible in a hotel parking lot. Brother had a rental car at the time so wasn't being as careful as he usually is I guess. The Mustang driver was on the other side of it and came over to yell at my brother. The Mustang was a rental car as well but the driver still wasn't happy over it. He's the book smart type and sometimes aloof. But is smart with a great job and well educated.

UPDATE: Apparently the guy that did the damage to my car, does not own the truck. It's his father-in-laws truck. Father-in-law VERY upset.

Maybe his family financially supports him. Either way, none of your (our) business.

Let us know if stealing horses can get you a [censored] jetta, "if you don't mind".

Sorry for OP for the incident, and dealing with stupid questions like this.

He was referring to the red truck, it is also parked on the white line, just like the "gladiator's" truck.
Your parking looks to be text book correct, although I could probably measure about a 1.25 inch difference between the lines and your tires.

This brings up a question I have never found an answer to......
why do the majority of truck owners back into a parking space?
I have seen truck drivers go to EXTREME measures to back into a spot, when just driving in forward would have taken much less time and effort.
Is it a "I wanna be a real trucker" syndrome, or something more sinister, more compelling?
For example........
"I have brighter lights than you"
"My diesel resonator is loud so you will look at me when I drive by"
"My hand/eye coordination is so good I can drive mere inches from your rear bumper at over 70mph (112 kmh)"
......and the list goes on and on and on and on and on

I am the guy that will park right next to a very expensive car, way out in the fringes of the wastelands. Hey, I love my ride too!

It's just all part of the whole "white trash bling" effect. It's hilarious watching these people spending ten minutes trying to do it!
