Do tow truckers not get tickets?

That's an odd thing to worry about.
The only things my dad, the only driver, would comment on regarding other vehicles on the road were load and trailer related.

It ain't "worrying" to be situationally aware of the sloppiness of others.
I carry on the tradition of looking at other drivers and their rigs.

Actually, how reckless and stupid people can be and how they can impact your life (pun intended) is absolutely serious.
This goes ten-fold whilst driving.
(signed) Joe Safety......and if you can't see that, maybe you're nuts?

State police might catch the issue easier than a local one can.
Are the state troopers the DOT officers? I think any cop can pull over a commercial vehicle, but I don't think they'll care about your log book and that kind of thing. They'll just give you a ticket for whatever the infraction was

I have no idea; but it does seem like [on random appearing trucker FB pages] that they're way more worried about the staties running the log books and inspections vs local cops.

They can still pull over the tow company. Any mail I would imagine has already been removed. Actually cops don't pull over the mail man. They arent allowed to disrupt service. Unless they do something really dumb
My point was-

Who was the "tow company?"

USPS has their own tow trucks and other maintenance vehicles.

Some states DOT are very strong, others are not. I used to have a class b.

In Wyoming your story would not fly, not for a commercial driver. you cant even pass a POE without stopping unloaded or loaded. In NC, where I am now, most truckers do not even know what a POE is, nor would they even stop at one.

I use that same chaining up setup with my equipment. Several chains and one binder. Best way to to do it IMO, assuming you know what you are doing. Chances are, a link on a chain was bound up and it let loose. This is the achilles heel of the setup.

Not in Houston where people drive like maniacs lol
You know they don't.
Tow Trucks are usually waiting for the cops to show up.
They come out anytime and the cops depend on them.
You also see how the drive going to an accident.

Sherrifs and Constables are the worst.
I used to have several blow by me on the Beltway going into work....when I used to to that.

Side note:
My wife got a new car.
I tell her it has Houston specific navigation system.
It actually tells you to make a right hand turn from the right lane!!!!

I've noticed that too. I've seen them blow by me like I was standing still and I was doing 60mph. They're going so fast you can't even hear the sirens and really don't have time to do anything but stay in your current lane. 120mph down the median with traffic on both sides is just suicidal

LOL, I'm talking about the ones just driving to work...
I'm on the NW side.
Used to head east toward Humble on bw8.
I think the Sherrif has a sub station just past 59.
I guess they were running late.

People have no idea how many law enforcement agencies we deal with here.

Almost every school district.
The Community College district
Metro
DPS
Homeland Security
Sherrif
Constable
Every City police

Who am I missing?
I know there is more.

Glad to see I'm not the only one who's noticed this. You never see the city cops drive nearly as reckless as the sheriff's.
