I have no idea when this was run or for what mileage... probably around 3,000 miles... but either BG EPR or Berryman's B12 went through her because it smells like paint thinner. Either way it is hefty and well constructed and I really do like the quality of these for $2.45 on Amazon despite being Chinese made.

These tech filters honestly look better to me than the PL and Boss line in many ways. No louvers is a big plus for me, given that M+H can't punch the dang things out far enough half the time. The L line looks good too. Give me this filter, but with better media and a silicone ADBV, I would buy many.

Thanks. Looks good. These are now Purolators top tier filters.
Amazon is selling the Purolator TL filters in many sizes on a sale right now for $2.40 a filter.

Would you agree that these Purolator Tech filters are a good choice for someone doing a 5,000 mile oil change
that are not running any cleaner like Valvoline R&P or HPL EC30 (so filter capacity would not be an issue).

This one looks good for $2.40, not sure what the track record is. I honestly like the basic Pentius if going for low cost.

Unless something has recently changed (and I suppose that is completely possible with how M+H manufacturing has been trending), the Tech's are just the version of the basic red can Purolator L##### oil filters that shops can buy in bulk for cheap. Whip City Wrencher on Youtube cut open two of the same model to compare and they were identical:

I think that they are rated for 5k miles, which is probably a good stopping point. I ran HPL EC and BG EPR through multiple of these filters on my Camry and they certainly didn't lead to anything negative as a result. I am more concerned about quality construction for 3-5k mile OCIs and these seem to fit the bill at a great price.

The Purolator Tech TL filters posted this sub-forum are currently made in two places. In my observation the "true" M&H Purolator are made in the US as shown the by WCW yt and a recent c&p of the same TL14610 posted HERE.

Otoh, topic really an M&H made filter they call "Purolator". It's been discussed here before. As for price, having followed the 14610 application for a while, they can fluctuate wildly. Suspect it has to do with Amazon algorithm pricing. For the 14610, $2.40 is the bottom line price that I look for to purchase.

As other China coo "Puro" TL filters posted before, looks good. Thank for c&p.

Thanks for that update. It's definatly a good time to stock up on them.

My thinking is: As long as the oil filter has good construction and isn't going to damage your engine
like filters with defects such as: Leaking unfiltered oil, tearing of internal media, closed louvers, glue coming loose, etc)
I don't mind a little bit lower efficiency.

I was less impressed with the basic Pentius. The overall construction looks good but that filter media under a microscope has a bunch of holes in it. There also doesn't seem to be any info on the efficiency.
