Purolator Pureone Filter Media Failure

Best of luck with the email... I sent it after my first failure and got the "kicking it to QC" and then crickets after that. Then I had my second filter failure... and yes, I recognize that double-ended filter failure quickly. At 3700-4000mi it was a complete failure on the first, at 3010 miles, it was a tear without a complete collapse.

I'm another consumer that is willing to return to a product if the company making it admits they had issues but have remedied them. Mistakes happen with any mass produced product.

The reputable organization does NOT ignore issues when the consumer alerts them to it and worse ignore their input or patronize it.

It looks very bad when a company gets called out on defective products and refuses to step up to the plate and publicly rectify the situation.

That's what I just did. I am going to run a Fram the next time.

I've emailed two people at Purolator and no one has responded after 3 days.

I never received a response from them either after I e-mailed about my torn filter. After about a week I sent another e-mail from a different address about a question I already knew the answer to just to see if I would get a response... within a couple hours I had a response and still to this day nothing back about the torn filter. That is NOT how a company who cares, handles it customers. At this point they can pound sand for all I care... won't ever be using their products again.

I contacted James Murray @ Purolator. Similar to other posters, I got a quick response when first mentioning my problem. After I sent back the broken filter, I did not get any reply towards my request for a refund (about a week now).

I never heard back from Purolator. There are plenty of other filters to use, so that's what I'm gonna do. I'm disappointed with the torn filter media and more disappointed that Purolator's customer service is nonexistent.

^^^ Purolator's Customer Service logo is a big cricket.

Does anyone know if the Quaker State oil filters made by Purolater that are sold at Menard's are being torn? I think I'm just going to throw the few I have out since I grabbed them on sale for $2 bucks.

The QS ones I've used have the glued seam, seem less tear prone than the (more expensive) Pure Ones & Classics.

I've used and cut open 2 of them so far and found no tears.

Thanks guys. I ran a couple of the Quaker State ones for 3,800 miles and just threw them out without cutting. Of course, this was before the Purolater debacle.

Please don't throw them out! At least offer them to a forum member for the cost of shipping. What part number/application are they? If they're the equivalent of a 14610 for a Honda, I'll buy them for the cost of shipping.
