Providence Synthetic Oil?

It is probably good oil, it does seem to be Rural Kings house brand made by Warren Oil (Not the same as Supertech) however they claim to be Dexos 1 Gen2 certified but I cannot find that certification on GMDexos website so maybe it is just not updated.

Would be interesting to find out more information on this.

Not familiar with the details. It's not Dexos spec so probably not the same Warren blending stuff that WalMart and Costco sell.
But no reason to think it wouldn't do fine in 99% of US applications.

This seems to be Warren Oil while Supetech, Kirkland, Amazon Basics, etc are made by Warren Distribution which is Highline Warren.

2 different companies.

Is it not still the same Warren Oil's own LubriGold brand synthetic?

I also can’t find it on the API EOLCS Directory but maybe I’m just not looking under the right name.

HAHAHA where you at?

It was made by Warren Oil Company …. That 5 qt oil container is a dead match for the oil container made by Warren Oil Company. So it would appear they are still making that oil for Rural King.

Not to be confused with Warren Distribution or now aka Warren Highline.

Funny reading about just barely meeting viscosity spec… Heck Pennzoil had 5w30s on their data sheets that were at 9.9 cSt. So… Not unusual for even bigger oil companies to be low on the viscosity side.

Numerous other 5w30s I have seen the data sheets were at 10.2 to 10.8. With the Dexos approved oils typically being higher than 11.0 cSt.

The one I linked is blended by Mid-States Distributing LLC.

Providence Oil? Providence is close to Worcester Masachusetts, which was the HQ of White and Bagley, which made the early motor oil brand Oilzum, used by Barney Oldfield.

Heck, my cousins in central Massachusetts were using Oilzum in the 1960s

I strongly think this the company for distribution…

They are not the one making the actual motor motor oil .

The original post was as CLEARLY a Warren Oil Company 5 qt container.

No question about that…. That container is very distinctive in what shape it has.
