The proper maintenance goes a long way. As I had mentioned a few days earlier, my uncle passed away on the 13th of this month, his son and I will be taking care of his truck from now on, we’ll try to take it to a million miles. It currently sits at 476,620 miles, the picture below was 3 years ago at 390k. Definitely doesnt look like an almost 500k truck. Only thing not factory is a 4 inch turbo back exhaust, and some rims from a later model 2500. Most expensive repair was the 48RE tranny getting rebuilt at 440k by a very reputable shop. Its still on the original CP3 pump and injectors, they will need replacing soon. He bought it new in ‘05 and was a stickler for maintenance, with me doing the maintenance the last few years. Its been a great truck. 5.9 common rail Cummins

We'd all like to take a vehicle to 1,000,000. And you've got a good start.

But keep your fingers crossed. The only thing that can keep you from hitting 1,000,000 is an accident. And that's something you can't control.

A Canadian cabbie was within a few tens of thousands to a million miles when some turkey took his cab out. He had doted on that cab for decades. I think he eventually fixed it but it wouldn't be the same.

440,000 miles is a good long haul for a 48RE behind a 5.9L Cummins. To make it to a million.....A Head Gasket is likely going to be needed at some point. Surprised it hasn't needed injectors before now.
CP3 pumps can last a million, Install a new Regulator Solenoid when you do the Injectors.
