It's not illegal to refill them. You can do it, but I think it is illegal to do so.
What does that mean ?never heard of anyone refilling the small tanks like that but i guess you could...probably not worth the price to refill
I don't like the idea of tossing the tank in the trashnever heard of anyone refilling the small tanks like that but i guess you could...probably not worth the price to refill
Probably costs about $1 to refill. A new propane cylinder is $5-6 bucks. I don't use a lot. I use propane cylinders for a torch and a camping lantern. But is easier, cheaper, and less wasteful than throwing a steel cylinder in the trash and buying another.never heard of anyone refilling the small tanks like that but i guess you could...probably not worth the price to refill
Thanks for posting, i may get a couple of those.https://www.amazon.com/Flame-King-Refillable-Propane-Cylinder/dp/B00MM3GCVO
This would be the proper thing to use.....
If you use that much propane it would be worth switching to a different setup to use a 20lb tank with a hose.
I realize I'm quoting from May but back when I was in college and broke the wife and I did a lot of camping and four wheeling. We refilled the little green cylinders with the adapter and also experienced the leak issue. We finally stopped because leaking LP in an SUV seemed......not greatI refill my lantern ones when camping off the stove 20lb cylinder. My experience is after a few refills the valves leak so I only refill and reattach to the lanterns to burn them up while out or torch head stays attached to the cylinder.
I've had new ones that leak after 1 use. I think the schrader valves don't hold up to the liquid lp, or the temperature of canisters vaporizing, or maybe its a speck of dirt from connecting and disconnecting . I use brass caps. Even on the new canisters i bought, i will use the brass caps.I realize I'm quoting from May but back when I was in college and broke the wife and I did a lot of camping and four wheeling. I have no idea why they'd leak after being refilled and never investigated further. I tried to ask Hank Hill but he never responded![]()
