So right before Winter I did a drain and refill on my 2015 Toyota Highlander. It is an LE AWD model with 3.5L V6.

So when I did the drain and refill I got approximately 2 quarts out of it. The old fluid in it was looking like new and smelling like knew. I refilled with Red Line D6.

When I did the pan drop and filter change today I again used Red Line D6 and it took a tiny bit more than 6 quarts to refill. I used Toyota filter, o-ring and followed their procedure for filling.

I am not sure what brand of Gear Lube I used in the transfer case and rear diff. It would have been synthetic and would have likely been Red Line 75W90 or Wynn's 75W140.

The wife and I bought this Highlander used with just under 100K miles on it when we got it. I never cared for the delay it made shifting into and out of gear when you pulled the selector handle to switch modes but in terms of shift performance going down the road it was always fine. It does seem to shift a tad faster from park to drive now as if there is no perceptible lag at all.

While Red Line engine oils never impressed me as compared to all the other boutique engine oils and OTC oils their ATF's, Gear Lubes, MTL's, and Power Steering fluids have always impressed me.

I first tried their products back in Car and Driver and Consumer Reports where still credible, reliable and only slightly biased! LOL I have tried Amsoil, Royal Purple, Torco, Mobil 1, Pennzoil, Valvoline, Fuchs, Castrol, Ravenol, BG, Honda, Toyota, Mopar, Chevron, Havoline, Eaton, ENOS, and many other's and I always come back to Red Line for ATF, Gear Lube, MTL/Synchromesh, and Power Steering Fluid. Hot or cold they just feel good, are quiet, and hold up to my service usage and change intervals.

I am not brand loyal on most things but when I find something I think just works a tad better in everything I try it in I do tend to stick around until I find something better or as good for less!

Any struggles with that one bolt? I definitely had to get creative when I did a '15
