This filter came off of my 2001 Mustang Bullitt after 2,867 miles using Valvoline Restore and Protect 5w30. At the time the filter came off it was at 283,941. I took an oil analysis and the results are here. This OCI included a ~900mi drive up to the Appalachian mountains. On the actual mountain roads the engine was the most stressed it had ever been doing sustained 3000-5000rpm, it did great.. Keep in mind new timing chains were done at 278,401mi.

The filter looks fine though, better then a Motorcraft. I am going to continue using PG/Various MFR on my vehicles.
Here's the drain plug, much less metal then in the past.

Thanks for all the great info, great stuff you got going on there! Is this your first OCI on Valvoline Restore and Protect?
I have been using Valvoline Restore and Protect for 10,527mi since 02/12/25. I'm not sure how much longer I will/should use it for.

I've been using it about half of that so far. Still on first OCI and from the results I've seen so far I have no reason to use anything else.

I think it’s done very good, on my first couple OCI’s there was obvious sludge present in the filter. I posted all of them on here.

I don’t have anything to prove this but when I did timing chains I had the cover off. And I would like to think all of the clearer spots are from Valvoline Restore and Protect cleaning. Especially around the crank seal.
