Hi all,
Not much info on these filters. The filter for my 2012 528i came up on sale on rockauto and was wondering if these filters were any good. I can get them for about $2 shipped, seems very tempting. For a 10k interval, these filters seem ok for the job, but I'd like your input. Using synthetic oil Mobil 1

This is the one I'm looking at
PRONTO PO5607 {#PG5607} Premium Guard Standard; Economy Filter

I just used one on a 2002 Mazda Tribute (a Fram PH2 equiv.) It appeared premium in every way-- silicone ADV, fairly heavy can. Looks like a quality filter from appearance alone. A look inside with a flashlight didn't reveal anything concerning. Sometimes I can spot very uneven pleats this way in cheap filters. Haven't taken one apart, but I have no doubt it's a 10k filter that will serve you well. I think I paid $3 and some change on RockAuto. Only drawback is it's made in China. But it probably beats the parts-store cheapos that also sell for $3 and are made in China/Vietnam/Indonesia/etc by leaps and bounds.

They are a decent Chinese copy filter. I think they are similar to the old Purolator's. I have used them, even 1 on my lawnmower, and did not have any problems with them.

Just looked at that filter and it looks good. Its a cartridge filter so a little hard to mess them up and it comes with the O-rings so I would use it.
Buy the last 4 they have to save shipping as well.

I bought a bunch of Pronto cartridge filters for our RAV4. That particular filter was made in Korea. Well-spaced pleats, plastic spacer on the end, and included the necessary cartridge drain tool and O-rings. They appear well-made. I'm planning on running them on 5k OCI's due to the short tripping that vehicle does.

I bought a bunch in the 3614 size They appear very well made, put the AC Delco to shame in fitting and finish. I have no idea of what the filtration quality of the media is.

But no problems with them so far.

Just finished up using my 5th PRONTO cartridge filter for my wife's FIAT 500 and none of them gave me cause for concern. They were Chinese made. I just reordered from Rockauto 5ea more for the stash and this set was South Korean made and looks like it will be fine also.

Looking at the OP's Pronto/Premium Guard cartridge application on RA, Amazon and ebay, it appears quite well made. In fact it looks very similar in construction to the Mann oem. I'd say 'if' the OP gets what's pictured at those sites, then it seems like a solid choice especially for the price.

Looking at Pronto/Premium Guard cartridges generally using google images, the new and used examples look good too. And as noted many are made in South Korea, same coo as the Hyun/Kia Mahle oem and Wix/Napa Gold cartridges for same.
