If a 40v cordless does not keep up you might want to get outside more often … On that note gotta 
Honestly I wouldn't consider Echo as being the best of anything. 'Best' is opinion only and maybe good/dependable performance/longevity, but I'd definitely take a Redmax, Husqvarna, etc. any day over pretty much every item Echo makes.

We just bought our first house. It’s on 1.1 acres, with quite a few trees in the front yard, so there are a lot of leaves to clean up.
I went with the EGO Power+ 765 CFM blower. Got the kit (LB7654-2) that includes 2 5.0Ah battery packs (each of which have the “fuel gauge” light), and a rapid, fan-cooled charger that can recharge the 5.0Ah battery pack in 40 minutes.
Also got the Power+ Powerload with LineIQ string trimmer.
I’ve been using them for a couple of weeks now and I really like them both. Initial impression is really good.
Pricey setup at $700+ for both. But they’re high-end products that perform very, very well.
Im glad I went with the blower kit that included 2 5.0Ah batteries. That blower can drain a battery, and it’s very handy to have one on the charger, ready when you exhaust one.
It’ll be interesting to see the longevity of these.

That may be true, but the big backpack Echo is, I believe, the most powerful unit out there. With regard to velocity, CFM, dyno results and effective blowing.
The 56V 5Ah battery I have (along with the EGO blower) is holding up just fine, even 3 years down the road. It even handled the freezing temps in the hangar just fine.
However, after running it down on Turbo, it will not charge in 40-50 minutes. It becomes thermally limited and takes about 1.5 hours minimum.
I bought my Husky 580BFS back when it was the top dog. It's the same as the Redmax version, but with a couple added things.....

Although not a normal situation for most people, I am doing post "hurricane" cleanup this AM in Jupiter, FL. (really was just a Tropical Storm).
Anyway, the battery blower is neighbor friendly, and allowed me to take care of some pressing issues at 6AM (we did have a good mess). But it's just not good enough for the heavy and wet debris. Battery dead in 10 minutes. I'm waiting until it gets a little later and out comes the gas blower.
Blowing dry leaves is one thing, blowing wet pine clusters is another.

You may want to look into things you can do to increase the life of the battery because there pricey
Muffler modified? Please share.
BG86 Stihl blower:
I removed the muffler, did my best to drill out the inner baffle. I used a unibit, then a carbide bit and die grinder. I then drilled out the "nozzle" to about as large a size as I could without interfering with the threads.
I have 2 of these blowers. The modified one is considerably stronger.

Echo makes some very good 2-cycle gear. I've owned several Echo OPE and have been extremely satisfied with all of then.
How happy are your neighbors about your modification? I think the muffler also helps to prevent fires. Your blowing dry leaves for the most part.BG86 Stihl blower:
