There’s some seriously interesting stuff here. I’ll say that I stocked up ordering a few cases of Stabil Marine 360. It has PEA in it. On Amazon it’s a steal at $7 right now but sometimes you can find it for $4 per 8pm bottle. I put it in the boats and my farm/work truck when it sits a while. But this video is pretty cool.

Guess I will stick with using stabil. Taryl fixes all did a pretty extensive fuel stabilizer test a few years ago with similar results. Seems like the majority of fuel stabilizers are just snake oil.

An interesting video, I watched it the other day.
I have some ethanol free gasoline mixed with 2-stroke oil and SeaFoam in it form 2 years ago. Will give it a try this or next year and will let you know.
However, keep in mind that only the Sta-Bil from all those is a true fuel stabilizer for long term gasoline storage, the rest are fuel system and combustion chamber cleaners. You can read it on their labels. Only the Sta-Bil label says storage.
However, I just ordered the Yamaha Ring Free and will report soon on its cleaning abilities.

Would have been nice to see a sample of non-ethanol gas after 2 or 3 years, with and without a stabilizer, and it's effect on the metal sample.

Why is there like no gas sloshing around with these samples? The metal samples are sitting in a puddle that barely wets them. Were these bottles not half-filled with gas to start with? Or if they were, is it that hard to keep them in an air-tight container?

Interesting video, however not the results I've found. I refuse to use Stabil as my buddy had put it in his snowmobile tank and ran his sled before storing it for the summer. Come fall it wouldn't start or run, we took the carbs apart and found nothing but awful looking crap in the carbs. I've used SeaFoam for years and never had carbs plug or dirty when tanking apart, in fact using SeaFoam the carbs are spotless inside and look brand new inside. Complete opposite of this videos results. All my snowmobile buds say the same thing about Stabil that its completely crap as it seems to plug jets and carbs in no time at all. Go figure. I will use only SeaFoam and non-ethanol fuel in my small engines and units that don't get run much over the year. My four-wheel has SeaFoam in all the gas that gets run thru it as those jets are small and will plug if I don't use SeaFoam. Its an almost 25 year old Honda and still runs like new with a spotless carb inside.

How relevant is the 5 year test, though? Who would try to use 5 year old gas? I guess it's just odd to me because here in Alabama our OPE gets used almost year round, with only a short break from Dec-Feb. So the fuel in our OPE never really has a chance to sit for long periods of time and go rancid.

Stabil red a bit of 2 stroke in the mix. E10.
Run. Fog through carbs/intake. I leave carbs full. The only time I've had issues with carbs were when I chose to run them dry.
Open them up and there was a flakey white residue that
formed from the drying of residual fuel/fuel additives. This white residue was a source of many issues.
You can't really run a carb "Dry". You can run them until they no longer function, but far from dry.
Fogging them surely helps and the very small bit of 2 stroke may coat and prevent the flakey buildup.
FI gets Stabil and fuel storage additive. Fog through air intake.
All get a squirt of fogging oil into combustion chambers.

OPE, quads, outboards, etc.

I appreciate your take on this.
I also have used seafoam for 2 decades with zero issues.
I am also hesitant to use stabil.

I think the test is relevant because there are instances where someone might put a car in storage for a very long time. My Dad had 1983 Alfa Romeo Spyder for a few years and then one fall he stored it and didn’t end up driving it for almost 3 years. It was a good thing that he put Stabil in the gas, because otherwise it likely would not have started when he eventually sold it.

Probably he didn't screw the jar caps so they were not air-tight on purpose. To mimmic a motorcycle tank or OPE tank that are not air-tight either.

The chicanic channel host swears by ethanol shield.
