Answer - Yes
You just need to go to your body repair shop and tell them to fix the car, have them contact Progressive to pay for it. (more or less get an estimate or multiple estimates)
or
You can take it to where Progressive says it can be repaired at that price, however, its your option to have it repaired wherever you want unless you have some restriction in your policy.

It sounds like you want money over repair because someone you know is getting more. But it doesnt work like that, you get what it cost to repair the vehicle and your its option to have it done or keep the money.

Sorry, never updated this post, it's almost a year old.

I had a second vehicle damaged in that same storm. A different adjuster came out to inspect it and he totaled it petty quick. He saw I had a claim open on the first vehicle, completed a second inspection, submitted an adjustment saying it was definitely totaled and Progressive processed it.

I ended up buying the Sienna back and the ex-wife is still driving it.

I had to fight with Colorado Farm Bureau after they totaled my Pontiac Vibe and offered $1700. I had to go to the estimators boss to get it resolved.

All insurance companies are in business to make $$, not to pay out claims so one can always expect they will try to get by with the lowest dollar expenditure. ALWAYS again/

No big deal, but why are these old posts resurrected and treated as if the OP is still concerned with advice. If he can tell us what the final outcome is fine. But c'mon that was last year.

A paintless dent repair shop owner posted advertising for his California business on three different threads, including this one. The mods changed his posts at first, but now they seem to have been removed. That is how it/they got dredged up from the past.
