Dusty, you should quit getting so worked up when you receive replies that don't fit into the category you expected. No one likes childish responses. You should state your thoughts like the adult we presume you to be, which is much more conducive to on topic conversation.

Do you react to people this way in the real world when they don't tell you what you want to hear? Because I'm having a very hard time envisioning any success in your cited career path if this is the case.

You asked for advice, we gave you advice. Quit trying to mod your Escort in a way that will be detrimental to economy, reliability, and longevity.

My guess would be to set the fans ~10* higher than the t-stat.

Why would lower underhood temps help that Escort in anyway? Were the parts not designed to take the TX heat? You do realize that cooling system PSI directly effects efficiency of said system. The pressure is there to help push the coolant through the engine and make sure there are no voids as well.

My advise is to go back to stock and if underhood temps are a concern like say for the battery install an insulating blanket around it.

Wrong forum altogether. Take this to Pirate4x4.

I kid.

I would set the fan higher than the tstat so the fan doesn't fight it constantly.

I asked a Valid question and HALF of the responses were childish and dbag type.
Steve, I'm fine with my schooling and future career. When I ask a question, I EXPECT an answer. I carry this policy in my day to day activities as well. I have been called very direct and blunt, I don't beat around the bush....never have..never will. I went to HD to look at the Dyson vacuum and a sales man INSTANTLY said oh you don't want those, let me show you one YOU DO WANT. REALLY, I asked him a DIRECT question and got some lame b s lame sales man $8/hr response. I said you didn't answer my question, he walked off and started texting.. I HATE THAT SCRAP!.

just like this place..some of you guys are the sales man type.. ARRRRRRGGGGGG!

Ummm, no.

You asked a question, and the FIRST person to respond to you simply asked, with, from what I can gather, no hidden agenda, WHY you did the mod:

The "dbag" in the above exchange was clearly YOU. Somebody asked a question, simply begging some clarity with respect to your original post, and instead of answering as to why you chose to modify your car, you "went off", like you ALWAYS go off, with no real rhyme, reason or logic behind it. Then you expect us to just understand your logic for behaving like an idiot. I'm sorry, we don't understand it because it isn't logic, it is childish lack of impulse control. If you can't answer a simple question, that isn't put forth in a snide manner, you need to do some self-evaluation, because the person with the problem isn't him, it is YOU.

The person who questioned your behaviour in school and future career was me, not Steve. And I ask because you quite frankly come across like a loose cannon, and considering I deal with doctors everyday, I'll tell you I've never met a doctor who behaves like you do. And I'm sure there's a reason for that. So either you tone it down a WHOLE heck of a lot in the real world and simply don't choose to do that on here, or you are likely in for a big wake-up call once school is over.

That's generally the exchange. However, if somebody asks a question about my question, I certainly don't have a problem with answering it. Rather than you know, acting like I just did a line of coke, half-read what they were saying and then proceeding to bite their head off

And how well has this worked out for you so far in life? I'm going to take a stab in the dark, and, based on your post history, say not too well.

When everybody is telling you that you come off a certain way, and that way isn't favourable in regards to how you are perceived, usually that's the time to sit back for a second and re-evaluate the situation because they are probably right.

When I used to hang around with PhD (and prospective PhD candidates) I just don't recall running in to anybody who had the tendency to fly off the handle. By the time you reach that stage in your life, you had to give that up to reach there.

I am just saying.

Please note that "Doctor" is a term that means less than ever these days. The PT folks have a powerful lobby and have managed to get themselves a title that ANY therapist hardly deserves.

Dusty, I was virtually the ONLY person here who posted something helpful and non-critical. I won't get fooled again...

This.

The OP is unlike anyone I knew there, regardless of the field. Makes me wonder.

I resent that. My wife has a DPT and went through quite strenuous training, that was on par with our friends that are MDs. The DPT curriculum is longer than the older curriculum, and to some extent at least, it is beneficial, as it allowed my wife to have more rotational assignments which allowed her to have specialization.

She has a waiting list in the metro area, routinely has to turn patients away, and is a top specialist in her area.

But the reality is that the DPT, if benefitting anything, is helping the medical schools. People already in the field are not getting pay raises by going from MSPT to DPT. Pay for a dpt is not higher than an MSPT. They can't write prescriptions. They may be able to directly take on patients and have insurance pay, but that's not an advantage to the pt, but rather to the insurance company.

You say your wife makes well into six figures criscrossing the countryside to do OT. My wide does the same for in home PT for kids. So how is anything so bad?

Why this guy is playing games and flying off the handle is beyond me. I'm not sure he is even in a dpt program yet. The dropout rate was something like 50% in my wife's class, so let's not assume that the op fits the mold or will make it. Hate to say it, but given your attack on the profession, let's just realize that not everyone will fit the mold, enter the process and come out the other side. And some without good "bedside manner" might not make it. Time will tell.

I wish DrDusty86 some maturity and good luck getting through and doing well. Seems like he is - handouts and enough money to own a big diesel to soot up priuses and then another car to boot. Whether expenditures are well directed, I can't say, and that's not the topic here (nor is this, but his own form of 'jaw jacking' brought it up here). I do hope he learns some maturity and how to get along. Of course that is a long-term learning process, and everyone, young and old has flaws.

I know many MD's who would strongly disagree with you. Therapists are simply not Doctors, it's only the aggressive lobbying of the PT's that made this so. That is not "attacking" anyone or any profession, simply a fact.

If you meet and hang with OT's and PT's in a group you can literally tell them apart just by meeting and speaking to them. A PT is generally a VERY different personality than an OT. Obviously there are exceptions, but I was just at a mixer for my Wife's company and it seems obvious that they are very different people.

Many PT's also have little respect for other therapies, that's not wrong, it's normal egocentricity. Perhaps your Wife is more professional?

You got an awful lot out of a pretty short sentence! But I appreciate the loyalty to your wife. I am proud of mine also.

None of the DPTs I know claim they are "doctors", though they have had many issues with doctors not understanding of the physics, neurology, and related effects. As a PHD engineer, I share the sentiment of the stupidity of doctors to the chemistry and kinetics of the body.

My wife is very careful to ensure that she does not imply suggestions that would look like the swimlane that a doctor operates in, and if anything, refers lots of new business to certain specialist doctors and works in a functional team with doctors.

Your comment on PT's respect for other therapies only applies to one that I've ever seen and heard, and that is chiropractic. That is where they do play doctor, salesman, and have questionable approaches which don't necessarily focus on strengthening and adaptin the body, but rather treating symptoms.. Which is really the way that most MDs operate anyway.

Having an "MD" isn't the end all, be all to being a "doctor". Plenty of technical PHD doctors understand far more, including about the body than an MD.

Of course the doctors' lobby has lots to do with stuff, as does the Lawyers' lobby too.

Bottom line - regardless of what you think of PTs or their licensure/educational structure, Dr here will rise or fall by his own accord. He may or may not be a PT, may never graduate, or may make it through perfectly. His bedside manner might be horrid, or he might be a star. I wish him luck in getting through and being successful, and hopefully he learns to be respectful, helpful, and avoid 'jaw jacking' to get his way. If he is good, he will do well, if he's bad, he will fail. There are good and bad in every profession, PT, OT, MD, Cleaning, Engineering, etc.

I am sorry but on internet, one can be anybody that he wants to be. The only thing is, if you want to claim to be a doctoral candidate, you need to portray an on-line persona that matches.

NO MATCH HERE!!!

Vikas "Young, 7-feet tall, handsome, $51Million in assets, married to supermodel"

Only the last one is true (in my mind) :-)
