Here is one you won't see too often. 117K in damage but no kills. I seem to have this happen a lot in Colorado for some reason? Maybe because it only has 8 guns and is missing that 2-4 more shells that would secure the kill? Still a very good game...

Been playing Hood heavy today to farm XP (reason why coming soon so stay tuned

). Just had a decent game and then set my all time high score breaking my previous record I set with the USN T8 BB North Carolina in the next one. That record was 171,204 damage and 3 kills. The new record with Hood is 171,213 in damage and 5 kills. Just was a MONSTER game. Was Epicenter and it came down to me dueling the enemy Hood and Colorado in the middle and taking both out while somehow living. I might even do up a replay of the game if I have time it was that good.

Fleet Update time...

I decided today to finish the grind to the IJN T8 BB Amagi. I really do not like the T7 Nagato truth be told. Everyone talks about the fantastic guns it has and IMO they suck. Everyone says the Amagi is 10X's better but only time will tell. I ended up doing something I am generally loathe to do and that is I used some Free XP to finish off the grind. I used about 20K worth as I just couldn't take more Nagato. I had to play a bunch of games in other ships and convert XP to Free XP as well to fully upgrade Amagi. IT is in port now fully upgraded.

I actually have played the 1st game in it and frankly it feel like Nagato with 1 extra turret and 2 guns. Not overly impressed with it despite a decent 1st outing (93K and 4 kills). Guns are typical IJN and go all over the place and when they do hit don't seem to do much. I just have not really liked any of the IJN ships I have played so far other than Maybe Fuso (T6 BB), Kuma (T4 CL), and Furutaka (T5 CA). The rest have been meh. Only time will tell if Amagi is decent or typical IJN rubbish (IMO)???

I want to get to the IJN T10 BB Yamato however so I have to go through the lower ships to get there. So Amagi is now in port. Info, port shots, and 1st game results below. Purchased the permanent camo for it and transferred my Nagato Capt to it as well. So without further ado, the IJN T8 BB Amagi...

Just running through my ships in port for their daily bonuses (man does it take a while to try and play each ship daily with 19 of them). Hood's turn was just up (I start with my lowest tier's and work to the highest). Have broken my WOWS personal high score yet again and by some 9K. Broke 180K in damage for 1st time. 200K WILL happen at some point.

Only 2 kills but a monster of a game. Hood has been everything and then some of what I wanted and hoped for with it when 1st starting the game.

Honestly, I have NO CLUE what the people who complain about it being a poor ship with under performing guns are talking about? It is a monster. Yes, you don't get as many citadel hits on BB's as you do with the bigger 15", 16", and 18" guns but you do get them and against DD and CL the Hood's 14's with the special fused AP rounds just wreck them. You also get a ton of regular pen damage on other BB's with Hood.

Volleys of 10-20K+ without citadels are common. I could care less if I get citadels or not (always cool when you do obviously but not a big deal if none). I will take the raw damage the Hood dishes out any day. 20K is 20K with or without a citadel hit. The ONLY draw back to high damage without citadel hits is it allows the enemy to heal back more of it's HP. Still not end of world.

The AA is fantastic on the ship and the armor is surprisingly good.

This game was on the map Neighbors and it was Domination mode. A real BB slugfest with the teams as follows...

At the start I went to the A cap in support of our T6 DD who went there. All other ships peeled off and convoyed to C leaving us alone on the left flank (typical in BB heavy matches - they all group up because they are afraid

). Unfortunately, despite me hitting it with 2 good salvos for almost 8K I couldn't finish the enemy T8 DD before it got torps off and took out our DD in A. At least our DD got it with it's dying torps. I continued on to A to try and cap.

The enemy seemed to be pushing down the middle with most of our team hiding off to the right of C when all of a sudden both enemy Hood's appear out of the DD smoke in front of me.

Had to abandon the cap and get out of there. That began a very LONG running battle between me and those 2 pursuing Hood's. While I was holding them on the left the enemy closed with my teammates on the right and began picking them off. We got down points and caps and I was sure we were going to lose but credit one of the Tirpitz guys and New Mexico guys on our team who sucked it up and fought (I am not used to that - most quit when down).

So I began a long twisting and dodging run back towards our spawn area using islands as best I could for cover and taking shots at the trailing Hood's or enemy ships showing better angles to me on the other side when I could. The Hood is surprisingly nimble and twists and turns well for a BB. It also turns/bounces a lot of shot when properly angled. The heal is another real benefit to the ship as you heal back a lot of HP when you can use it. Hood only has 67K HP but I took over 90K in damage thanks to that awesome heal.

The 2 Hoods eventually got me sort of boxed in as I was running out of room and even got momentarily stuck on map edge (man does that suck when you are stuck sitting broadside trying to turn off the edge and get going just waiting for that big hit you know is coming...

) but I managed to get off alive and then pulled a U-Turn behind an island and came out with one of them dead broadside at like 4km and just walloped it good( 23K+ and a citadel). I then just kept going and worked back towards A again using the same islands. I managed to take out that Hood and then went to work on the other who was by now burning from my secondary's. Our Tirpitz and New Mexico took out the last enemy on their side leaving me to finish the enemy Hood which I managed to do with very little HP left.

A true classic match. Man I love the Hood.

Somehow despite doing 180K in damage which is almost unheard of in Co-op (even high tier) I came in 2nd???

So in this one I don't do the massive damage (95K) like the 180K Hood game above but do respectable damage, solo capture an area, and take out 6 of the enemy's 8 ships and I still come in 2nd

Good game in Iowa. I will take 2nd place all day if they are like this. Good T8-T10 match that only had 1 bot on our team.

204K in Iowa. Farming that kind of damage in a Co-op game with only 8 ships is really something. Probably best game I have played in WOWS. Wasn't just damage either. 3 big TIMELY kills w/ 2 big caps (we were down on ships and caps/points for most of game), lots of brawling, cap defenses, etc... AWESOME!!!

So following the 204K game I had a string of bad MM and some poor teammates. Even had a loss in there because 3 players ran to edge and hid. Wouldn't fight even when enemy was capping our base for the win. Don't know why you play at all if that is how you do it let alone in a T8-T9 that costs a lot to use in Co-op.

Just had this one where I was only human on team. 7 Bots and all T9. Was a very interesting game to say the least. I did well and we won. That is my cue to sign off for the day.

Another good Iowa game although something weird happened. The after battle report is only accounting for 7 ships in the sunk category and there are always 8 in a game AND it shows 8 in the list? The game ended with me blowing up the last enemy ship so there should be 8 sunk but it only shows 7? I only got credit for 4 kills when my 5th ended the game. I got one of the DD's early and it doesn't even show as damaged in my after battle report? The enemy side is also only accounting for 7 ships too (5 kills and the 2 of us left alive). Really strange.

It was just me and the CV on our team w/ 6 bots. Our bots died off fast, only taking 2 enemy with them, leaving it the CV and me against 6. We pulled it off though with me getting 5 not the 4 it shows as said. Was a good game on a tough map for Iowa (full of islands).

Man I just LOVE these guns. They hit so hard and are so accurate it just isn't funny. When I don't hit and do massive damage it is 99% of the time me not leading the target enough (shells hang in the air a long time) or I shoot at a target that is angled enough, with enough armor, to bounce shells. Otherwise it just pummels stuff. I see the shot all grouped and falling, and clearly it is going to hit amidships, and my thought is..."bye bye" if it is a CL or DD or "oh this will hurt you big time" if a BB and I am usually right.

I don't want to get sucked into the same trap I did when I 1st got Nagato. That seemed like a really good ship at 1st too and then it's true colors came out and it is mediocre at best (for me anyway). I do not like it and struggle mightly with it's guns that are supposedly so accurate and powerful (NOT!).

I admit I had my reservations going into Amagi and even said here that I wasn't overly impressed after the 1st game. Now, I have only played 4 games in it but it does seem to be a big improvement over Nagato. The guns while not great damage dealers are fairly accurate and I will give it credit where due; it seems to be very tough when angled.

I just had a match with it where I went head on into the enemy Amagi and 2 Colorado's by myself with no support purposely to test it out. All 3 of them were 100% health as was I. I admit I was very surprised by the results. I took about 50K in damage from them while dealing out over 100K in damage total to the 3 of them. I basically was circling and brawling in amongst the 3 of them (note 135 secondary hits). Main guns and secondary guns blazing away and all of us on fire. It was a real slugfest. I didn't kill any of them but damaged them all enough that our CV and other BB's cleaned them up as they fled like cowards.

Before I got into that little dust up I nuked 2 CL's that showed their broadside. Both were already hurt but I hit them full on and citadeled both. Easily the damage would have been higher they just didn't have the HP left for it to come from. Taking them out on the way into the cap to fight the 3 enemy BB's let me concentrate on them and not worry about CL HE spam so being able to one shot them was key.

So it is only one game out of 4 and I don't want to get too far ahead but it looks dare I say promising??? I was really surprised when I looked at my averages for it in the 4 games...

I didn't even realize I had the XP needed to upgrade to the FRN T6 CL La Galissonniere. Had WAY more than needed actually so I have been playing the T5 longer than needed. Oh well it isn't a bad ship so I don't mind. So, I researched and purchased the T6 just now.

It's the 1st new Cruiser for me in a long time as I have sort of swapped over to become a BB main player. Have heard it isn't very good but have heard that before on ships and I end up liking them as well as people raving about a ship and I hate it. I will reserve judgement until I play it some.

Haven't played the T6 yet but will post 1st game results when I do. For now the ship info and port photos. Transferred my T5 Capt to it. As usual I have the ship fully upgraded. Didn't take much Free XP to do it thankfully as Iowa and Amagi wiped me out.

So 1st game is in the books. It seems okay. Faster reload than the T5 but much slower max speed. Think I prefer the speed. Unfortunately I died but at least we won.

I went into cap A alone as the Omaha with me turned off for some reason leaving me alone? I capped and then as I went around the end of the island I ran into the enemy Leander. That is a good test IMO as the BRN T6 CL Leander is a tough ship. I took it out fairly easy and then the enemy IJN T7 CA Myoko appeared behind me. I was just starting to engage it when the enemy CV got me. A torp squadron managed to catch me not paying attention and I ate 2 of the 4 torps which sunk me.

I still came in 2nd on team. Not a huge match but not bad for 1st game feeling it out.

So, the day I have been waiting for since starting WOWS back in December 2016 has arrived. Well, one of those days anyway.

I have reached my 1st T10 ship in the game. I always thought it would be the BRN T10 CL Minotaur as I played mostly BRN CL when I started but I ended up becoming hooked on BB's and started playing them mostly after a few months. I have got that 1st T10 though after some 3688 matches. Yes, 3688 (3518 in Co-op and 170 in Random).

Obviously as this thread illustrates I have played a lot of different ship lines and progressed multiple lines at the same time. In addition to taking the BRN CL's to T7, USN CL to T7, KM CL to T6, and French CL to T6, I actually dropped RUS CL at T5 and IJN at T6, I have taken IJN and KM BB to T8 and BRN BB to T5, I stopped playing and dropped DD's at T4, and even tried CV before deciding it wasn't for me. So I easily could have done this sooner than I have. Also, playing mainly Co-op with the drastically reduced rewards has contributed to the slower progression. I hate Random mode though so I don't mind. I almost take it as a badge of honor that I got to T10 as a Co-op player.

So while I would have liked to get her sooner, I think playing so many different ships has made me a better player overall. Just glad I finally reached the pot of gold at the base of the rainbow in at least one line though.

I haven't played it yet but have played against them and they are tough ships with a deadly broadside salvo of 12 406MM guns. Actually, it looks like it uses the exact same guns as Iowa just with an extra turret. So, I am used to the quirks of the guns which should help. The Montana also has one of the best AA suites in the game and I am looking forward to melting enemy plane squadrons. Hopefully I can break Iowa's record of 65 planes shot down. Montana has a lot better armor and torpedo protection than Iowa as well. Unfortunately, it appears the ship is even bigger than, and slower to turn than, the Iowa which is a bummer. Definitely going to have to plan WAY ahead because maneuvering will be tough. As long as I can get the guns on stuff though they are in big trouble.

Note - T10 ships do not have ship upgrades (ie; hulls, guns, engines, etc...) so I didn't have to use Free XP to do that once I got it. Good thing as it cost a small fortune in credits ($20,800,000.00) to buy it, and to fill the module upgrade slots ( 6 of them totaling $6, 875,000.00), after earning the 247,000 XP in Iowa to research it. I also had to use a butt load of Doubloons to shuffle around and retrain Capt's to get the highest point ones into the highest tier ships (now that I am at T10 in USN BB I no longer have to move the USN BB Capt's around - they can stay in the ships now in - hooray! :!). So my reserves are really depleted. Glad I didn't have to wipe out my Free XP too. Time to play and build them back.

Seems to handle like the Iowa even with a bigger turn radius and longer rudder shift so I am used to it more or less. The guns the guns the guns. They may be the same ones as on Iowa with the same damage but good lord they hit hard. I always felt taking a hit from a Montana it was worse than an Iowa and now handing them out I feel the same. It is more than just the 3 extra guns. Something in the coding helps the guns do better IMO.

the game went super fast. I only fired 9 times and did that 130K + damage. Also landed at a 61% rate which is INSANE for a BB. I spanked the enemy Montana for a 48K salvo which I loved. The game was just me and an Iowa w/ 6 bots and we won.

I went right for the 2 enemy BB's at the outset to see how Montana handles a fight and I am impressed. I only took 27K in damage while dealing out 130K+. Got an enemy CL with a 1 shot salvo at range that was HE spamming me too. Can't ask for more. I also made $70K in credits so I can play this T10 in Co-op and be okay.

All in all a good day for me and Monty...

Sadly my 2nd game was a loss as the Alabama plyer who was in the game with me( just 2 of us with 6 bots )got careless and showed way too much broadside to the enemy Monty and got instadeleted! That left me alone vs 3. I got 2 and was less than 5 seconds from reloading to get the enemy Alabama for the win and it got me. HE Spam and it's fires took too much of a toll on me and I was too low on health. Dished out 122K and took 122K (40K+ in fire damage).

3rd game came down to me and another Monty vs a bunch. I did good damage to multiple ships and took out one of the enemy Montana's with a Ram. I shouldn't have died as I had almost 50K HP left and it only had 1000 HP but it blew me up too? But our other Monty player pulled it out so it was a win and that is what matters.

Really loving the ship.

Just had a whale of a game in my USN T10 BB Montana and broke my previous single game high score of 204K held by my USN T9 BB Iowa. Only 2 kills but I just laid waste to 1/2 the enemy team. Should have been at least 2 more kills as I hit Cruisers for massive damage that would leave them just a few hundred HP shy of dying. NO complaints though as it was a great game. Might even make it into a replay and post?

It was an all T10 match with just me and another player w/ 6 friendly bots. Wasted a lot of early effort on the French T10 Cruiser as they are real pains with their HE Spam and all the fires they set. Darn thing is so fast though that trying to get the lead right is really hard and I kept landing on it's tail or just behind it. Got a little damage on it but finally just moved on to other targets and that is when I took off.

I "REALLY" love the Montana. What a beast. I have died a lot in it and lost quite a few games (mostly due to awful MM - see below - and because T10 ships are so powerful the slightest mistake = BOOM!

), but it is just a monster. I actually get too aggressive in it and over extend because it is so tough and that gets me in trouble. I feel invincible in it at times which it isn't. So much fun to play

I also "REALLY" hate WarGamings matchmaking system in Co-op though. I have complained about it here before, as well as to WG directly, and I am going to do it again

. When there aren't enough human players to fill a Co-op team (max 30 second wait time for a Co-op game to start) they use friendly bots. I don't have an issue with that, the issue is they have this insane propensity to fill the slots with all or mostly DD. It just flat sucks when they do that. Especially for me as I am a BB main.

Anyway, my last match tonight was no exception. Entered the queue and after 30 seconds entered this match...

I mean come on 6 T10 DD's. Give me a break. How about throwing a few Cruisers in there, another BB or two, or how about a CV? IT just happens way to often that I see 5,6, or even 7 DD bots. The game is NOT fun when that happens. This game was even worse as the one other human player either saw the MM and said forget it or somehow was disconnected. I will give him the benefit of the doubt but it smells like quitting. I did not do so and actually pulled off maybe my best game in Montana, and one of my best WOWS games ever, even if the stats don't suggest it.

I have rambled enough but FWIW... I got the enemy Des Moines early on as I went towards the C cap to try and support some of our bot DD's that went there (plus for my own protection frankly) then suddenly found myself all alone vs 3 DD and the enemy Montana all coming into the cap. Only other player on our team was the afk Des Moines so it was just me. I still don't know how I managed it??? Somehow I stayed in the cap with the 3 DD's circling launching torps, got grounded on an island and didn't get torped and sunk, survived a lolpenn from the enemy Montana, was on fire everywhere, and then after getting the 3 DD I managed to ram the enemy Montana for the win (I knew that afk Des Moines being alive after we both died would give it to us). An epic carry for the win BUT not an enjoyable one. Made a boat load of cash for it at least (no pun intended).

Just broke my single game high score again with Montana and by a big gap but it was a LOSS!!!! I just ran out of time before enemy team got to 1000 points. Oh I am sick to my gut about it. Was just me, another Montana, and a Tirpitz for humans and the rest (5) were all DD bots. Not a good MM game to begin with when you have 5 DD in it but even worse when they are all bots.

Our Tirpitz went off by himself and lost to the enemy Tirpitz without doing much of any damage to it. I guess he did get a DD which helped some. Our Montana got a DD too but that was about all. I got a DD and then our bot DD's got the other 2 before dying. It was me and the other Montana vs the enemy Tirptiz (90%) and a 100% Monty and a 60% Monty. The other guy got careless and showed way too much side and got obliterated leaving me alone against 3!!! We were also down on caps and points.

Wanted to quit but kept going as I always do. I actually got the 100% Monty, got the Tirpitz, and had the last Monty within 1 salvo of dying when I ran out of time. Oh I was so mad. That last Monty just hid behind the islands. That is something new for bots. In the past they always charged you. I honestly thought I had it and even hit that last Monty with my spotter for a big blow leaving it almost gone but it just wasn't enough.

Not sure if I want to puke or cry...

This ship (USN T10 BB Montana) is just so much fun. It is just a wrecking machine and it prints $$$ (for Co-op anyway - made tons of $$$ with it so far).
