So I saw this PRESTONE PCMO 10w30 going on sale at my local ENEOS center. Looks like they are clearing their stock. The shop will probably not carry these anymore. its is a full synthetic API SM with ACEA A3/B4 approvals, and says made by Honeywell corporation, which is a respectable American company.
So I tried looking for info on Prestone Oils. found none ! Prestone is well known for coolant products. I surmise that I couldn't find any info because they have gotten out of the oil business perhaps somewhere in 2014 or 2015.
So does anyone know anything about this brand of oils?
I will take a front and back pic of the bottle when I get a chance.

Did you see any mention on the back label to the blender? It's probably blended by a major player. There is a Fram full synthetic api sn that is made by ConocoPhillips

FWIW there used to also be a "fram synthetic oil" that could have been from the same people.

Edit, what ^ said

Actually, I am more concerned if this PRESTONE oil isn't made by prestone, but a fake oil. I wanted to know if some one heard of PRESTONE making PCMOs at one time.I will take pics of the bottles this Saturday.

I did some digging on the internet..it seems prestone does not make motor oils for the u.s or european market. From a forum in malaysia..i found a guy who said he sent a question the the blender and they said they did blend and sell oils to the asian market.

Those ACEA specs are a little old, 2008 when the most recent is 2012. Should be OK for a car from that era.

Still, your actual question is about the authenticity of the oil, is it real or fake? Unfortunately I can't help you there.
