Premium Guard KIA/OEM spin filters no longer have silicone adbv

Thanks for the premium guard Kia/Hyundai spin filter information. I have not bought a Kia filter in about a year so I am unable to tell you if there have been any changes. If there are changes, the new filters might have a different part number as they have changed in the past. Also, thank you for the C & P's last weekend. Irishman

You can always get the STP S2808XL for the silicone ADBV, gasket and better filtering media. I remember pulling those out and installing on many KIAs, 10 dollars at autozone or discounted with an oil bundle.

looks like the filters were having issues with the pressure.

I'll admit I'm not that familiar with the PG "Hyun/Kia OEM" clones. That said, doing away with silicone for nitrile adbv would be surprising. That said, the PG bulletin/alert on their filters for Hyun/Kia shouldn't be related to an adbv material change.

Not the first a bulletin has been seen from aftermarket filters used on Hyun/Kia. Iirc, PrimeGuard had a similar alert/bulletin posted on this subforum some time ago.

'IMO' I think it's more some issue with Hyun/Kia oil pressurization system than a fault in the filters themselves. And, the use aftermarket filters make an easy target for fault finding. My.02

They aren’t clones, right? The way I read the document is they bought Hyundai/Kia filters and are reselling them. That’s why I posted it, it isn’t a change in their ADBV it’s they are not selling the cheaper line for these cars and just selling re-boxed factory filters.

They still offer their extended life filters for these cars, but not the standard filters.

They aren’t clones, right?....
I just used the term(s) used describe 'topic reference filters' in the follow up post by the OP, 53'

Yes, as I read the PG alert it seems they are now using the OEM to ship. That said, I didn't make the automatic connection that those filters are what the OP was specifically referencing. If the OEM is now using nitrile adbv in place of silicone, still be surprising to me.

Seeing as not the first time an alert of this sort seen for Hyun/Kia aftermarkets, still think last two sentences of my previous post the main thing I see.
