If you get the weekly Lube Report you may have already seen this. After testing Bullseye oils purchased in several states over the course of the last 18 months the PQIA has issued it's first ever DO NOT BUY alert. Apparently the people making Bullseye seem to think that selling oil full of alluminum is good for your vehicle.

Full Story

Forget liquid titanium - alluminum is now the new hot antiwear additive (free with every used oil sample) - I jest of course.

yep thats covered in Tom's march-22nd post

No wonder everything tasted oily at my last cookout, I thought it was BQ sauce as well....

I just saw two empty quarts of that stuff in a Detroit parking structure last week. Someone who needs to dump a quart in every 50 miles I guess. Think it was priced around $1.75. Figured it was pretty worthless stuff, but does get the level on the dipstick to read right.

“My spec results are completely different from PQIA’s,” Silver added."

That sums it up totally right there. The reporter could not follow up what are your specs?

I don't think this is a "first-ever don't buy" alert from PQIA. I've seen many other such alerts from PQIA in the past. Lube Report needs to get their facts straight.

This is PQIAs first "Don't buy". They have had several "Consumer alerts" on Bullseye, as well as a couple other off-brand products. But this is a first for the PQIA where they specifically state not to buy something. The "Consumer alert" is a cautionary statement. The "Don't buy" is fair warning you're going to get hosed.

Three consequtive incredibly bad reviews of VOAs of Bullseye. Looking at the three of them, one can summize little to no TBN, fill of dirt, and comes with complimentary wear metals already included. Wonderful.

Sadly, some unknowing folks will buy this stuff and suffer from it.

I tried to find the Bullseye website, but get redirected to nonsense. Hmmmmm .... their website as good as their oils. Who would have guessed?

Same thing happened to me. Mods, can you remove the link above to protect our members?

I personally wonder what would cause an engine to seize faster:
Bullseye motor oil or no motor oil.
This oil is surely garbage, but between garbage and nothing, any engine would certainly run longer on Bullseye motor oil.
The tragedy is that neither the retailers nor their customers have any idea how bad this stuff is.
Outside of BITOG, how many people either know of or pay any attention to PQIA VOAs?
On this board, PQIA is preaching to the choir.

Zero Zinc!...you think if they had used oil in there it would have dragged (drug?) a bit of zinc into the mix.
